In addition to a range extender PHEV, Mazda appears to be working on a full BEV.

The type of car it will make its debut in has not been revealed, but a pure electric version will also be offered.

Something to look forward to. In my opinion Mazda is the only Japanese manufacturer with a compelling design language. Fingers crossed it's an electric MX5. The EV convertible space is wide open for a new entrant.

If it's an electric CX5/7/9 I expect they'll face strong competition by the time it hits the market.

Sad to read Mazda is still committed to combustion engines for the next decade.

By 2030, Mazda expects that internal combustion engines coupled with some form of electrification will account for 95 per cent of the vehicles it produces, and full-electric battery electric vehicles will account for 5 percent.
