My dream: A Caterham 7 with a 200-hp motor powered by lightweight solid-state batteries--bring it!A lotus crossover… as an EV…

Don't bring it. Build it!My dream: A Caterham 7 with a 200-hp motor powered by lightweight solid-state batteries--bring it!
Which will be ready first, lightweight, solid-state batteries or nuclear-fusion reactors? They both always seem to be 10-years away.Don't bring it. Build it!

Specs don't mention ground clearance which is most important for off-road. Looks more like a toy than a real off-road machine. This Ariel E-Nomad is a little taller than a Caterham 7, but the off-road EV concept almost fits the bill even without solid-state batteries. Specs: 281 hp, 361 lb-ft, 1,975 lbs, 0-60 in 3.4 seconds, 41 kWh battery, 150-mile range, CCS 20%-80% charging in 25 minutes. Ariel's in Britain; maybe they could get together with Caterham.
