Small batteries mean small range which is not what consumers want. A small battery say 14-17Kwh still cost in the $5,000 to $8,000 with integrated cooling. Some large battery packs are $20,000 + . The ice vehicle costs are already born by previous generations where BEV's costs are here and now. They will drop in the future but not today.
