My blow dryer used to trip mine in the bathroom.All it takes is a slight power surge or a fluctuation power to trip it. I am not an electrician but Since the Cable head controls the flow of electricity I would get rid of the GFCI and use a standard outlet.
 
As a former electrician’s assistant (never independently licensed, but covered by his license to do work):

GFCI outlets in garages are in most cases code. Plus are safer. Not the end of the world if you switch it out for a standard, but FYI.

I charged my Clarity for quite a while on a 110V outlet with a GFCI, no problem. GFCIs are notoriously fickle.

If you don’t mind the expense, consider just replacing the GFCI with a new one from a reputable brand (Leviton, Hubbell, etc) and seeing if that works.
 
@jorgie393 is absolutely correct. Common sense, electrical codes, and the manual all dictate keeping GFI protection in the garage. Especially since the Clarity seems to collect and drip more water than other cars I've owned.
Best bet is to follow his advice and swap out the GFI outlet. We want you posting on the forum for a long time!
