My battery must be slowly failing. With 80% charge I’m only getting a range of 320 km. When new, I got 485 km on a full charge at this time of year. Can’t wait for a replacement

It's helpful to charge to 100% periodically to balance the cells.

2019 limited. Original battery. Verified needing replacement. Started at 80%. RT to stores on Cape Cod MA. Virtually flat and Light wind. 70-75 degrees F. Dry roads. About 80 miles on highway with speed limits from 40-50mph. The remainder in congested traffic

As I posted in another thread, my move earlier this year to Hilo Hawaii has done amazing things to my range. Instead of the 285-290 I was averaging in San Francisco I'm now getting 320+ and recently got a reading of 332. I attribute it to a) lack of high speed highway driving -- just not many opportunities for that here -- and b) the car loves the 6.5 mike downhill drive from my house in the hills to places I go for shopping, errands, etc. Typical round-trip shows about 5.5mi/kwh or thereabouts.

These are all impressive and everything, but have you ever circumnavigated the entire planet 1.75 times in a single day??? It appears I had one hell of a commute on May 30. (Pretty efficient for the speed I must have been going though!)

This is the highest distance I have seen and remembered to record. 361 potential miles at 100%. I don't necessarily agree with the recommendations but this was in the owner's manual:

Not quite there, however with average consumption of 127 Wh/km, I have not been not disappointed.

After nearly 4 years, still shows 317 miles @ 95% SOC.
Before I trade it in (probably later this year - 25 Ioniq 5), I will eventually charge it to 100% for the first time and see what it reads.

Does anyone know what are the variables that go into the algorithm that produces this prediction?
For example, my Mitsu i-MiEV Range Remaining is based on a simple moving average of the consumption over the past 15 miles (24km) and turning on heating or cooling decrements that number by ~20% and 10%, respectively.
The Tesla has eight different numbers for predicted range (each different) but does identify what they're based on.

Exactly: the reading will vary as the latest moving average replaces the oldest saved one.
To see the 30 drives used for this calculation, select EV/Eco Driving/EV Economy History in the center screen. My best (highlighted) is 8.5 kWh/100 km or the way I prefer to see it - 85 Wh/km. But that will disappear soon as it's low on the list, and if the recent recorded drive is higher than this the average displayed range will be lower.

I have a 39.2KWh Kona (they sell only this variant in India, no 64KWh here)
I usually average around 11-12KM/KWh. So i can manage to extract 400-450+kms on regular running around in the town.

occasional 13-14KM/KWh if weather is favorable.


On highways i have managed around 450+kms, sometimes more than 500kms if weather is good.

The highest i have ever seen was on a short hypermiling test run, 19.2KM/KWh.
