Here is an update. Decided to do a runout to see if I could actually drive the 558 km that the GoM indicated. Have a look at the attached chart. It is comforting to see that the GoM consistently displayed slightly less available range than what the Kona was achieving. When the SOC got down to 5%, the GoM showed 28 km. Shortly after 4%, the Kona went into Turtle Mode and the remaining range was no longer displayed, so I decided enough was enough. It may look like I fudged the numbers when the actual distance driven was 558 km when I plugged into the charger, but this was a coincidence. This was just a fluke, as I could have stopped the test 10 km more or less than when I did. Anyway, the runout proved what can actually be achieved with gentle city driving and low speed highway driving.
