Kona EV 300 Mile club

Oh, no, don't think I drove over 700 km on one charging, I didn't. Best score I saw in my Kona is 9,8 kWh/100km and it was done in quite short trip of about 70 km. Usually if I drive very slow and polite, I can see 10,5-11,5 kWh/100 km, but I have no patience to do it every day :)
 
Tomek, what model year? Looks like you got the same early "---" miles-left cutoff that I noted in my "runout" post.
In the 2019 I didn't get that until 1% or 0%, and it seemed to guess all the way down through single digits.

Model 2020. I received "---" distance reading at about 50 km left, don't remember exactly SOC. By 4% and an alert message there left about 16 km (calculated) to go. But my trip was just finished, so I didn't check it ;-)

Well, chances are all you would have to do is drive gently in ECO mode, mainly in city traffic, and no faster than 80 km/h on highways, avoid AC and use Level 3 Regen. Driving Style was 97% Economical, 3% Normal. After some history has built up, the GoM would likely show the same numbers on your screen. Of course, this type of driving is not practical for people in a hurry or needing to keep up on the expressway.
 
Look at the other numbers: the distance traveled on this trip is only 1.4 km after 8 minutes of drive, and the ambient temperature is quite high. The car was not parked in the sun, but at first minutes after start the air conditioning had something to do. Hence the high average energy consumption - typical for the beginning of a journey in hot summer or cold winter. Before driving a kilometer, the indication can reach 40kWh / 100km, and after a few minutes it drops to a reasonable value of 12 kWh / 100km, depending mainly on the pace and style of driving. However, the initial indication of 490 km is a prediction of the available distance, calculated on the basis of previous rides and the current battery charge level (in this case 100%).

Here is an update. Decided to do a runout to see if I could actually drive the 558 km that the GoM indicated. Have a look at the attached chart. It is comforting to see that the GoM consistently displayed slightly less available range than what the Kona was achieving. When the SOC got down to 5%, the GoM showed 28 km. Shortly after 4%, the Kona went into Turtle Mode and the remaining range was no longer displayed, so I decided enough was enough. It may look like I fudged the numbers when the actual distance driven was 558 km when I plugged into the charger, but this was a coincidence. This was just a fluke, as I could have stopped the test 10 km more or less than when I did. Anyway, the runout proved what can actually be achieved with gentle city driving and low speed highway driving.

Heh, today's charging gave me 546 km (339 mi) predicted range (with AC off) -- the further the better. Unfortunately, I did no photos. Normal everyday 70 km trip from home to work and back (citi + road, citi traffic dense or very dense, road traffic average, no jams or very little sometimes), charging two times per week. BTW -- I practically do not use the brakes, even in the city, riding on one pedal and the left paddle. I am not surprised by those who write "I love this car" :-)
 
That's 450kms at 90% so that would easily get to 483kms(300miles) at 100%, I only had the car for about 2 months so I hope this range will get better as time goes.

Those numbers will creep up as long as the temperatures remain warm, you should have no problem getting there soon.
Topped off again at a local (free) 50 kW DC charger today. I stopped charging as soon as it hit 84% because 456 km was more than enough range to get to my (or any on this Island) destination. :)

My local Hyundai dealer has 2 AC 7kwh charger, and he offered me free charging as long as I want lol, so I haven't been using any DC or home charger. I just plug my car there once a week to get it to 80 or 90% depending on my plan, loving the car so far.
 
Here is my city range :) 377.7 miles or 608 km
With AC ON in most cases.

My battery must be slowly failing. With 80% charge I’m only getting a range of 320 km. When new, I got 485 km on a full charge at this time of year. Can’t wait for a replacement
