It happened to us. Clarity rear ended.

the culprit did not even bother with any braking. I hope the battery pack is O.K. Repair work on these EVs is a major headache, hence the crazy insurance costs. Aside from range and charging speed, I think repair/insurance cost is a major blocker for many potential EV buyers (yeah, I am stating the obvious)
