Is Shell Recharge Worthwhile?

One of my main public charging locations just opened IONNA DCFC spots, and I'm wondering if signing up for Shell Recharge through the MINI app works with the F56 SE and is worthwhile. Does this give the F56 SE "plug and charge" capabilities like I have with my F-150 Lightning? Even if not, having a single way to activate at various vendors would be preferable to needing separate apps for each.

I see the Shell Recharge network includes ChargePoint, BLINK, and EVgo, which are also common charging vendors around me. Notably Electrify America doesn't seem to be included.

If it's just IONNA for Météore you still should be able to activate the charger from Shell Recharge. I say give it a try because the worst case scenario is that you just pay with credit card at the site.

Setting up a Shell Recharge account in the MINI app won’t give your car Plug and Charge or AutoCharge capabilities, nor will it give you the ability to start a charge in the car’s display system.

Like you said, it’ll give you the ability to start a charge on a bunch of networks with just one app. I’ve used it to start Chargepoint chargers, but sometimes trying to select the right charger can be a little difficult, especially if the charger isn’t clearly labeled.

Other thing to note: If you have membership discounts or credits on a specific network, you won’t be able to access that in the MINI app
