Today Hyundai KONA EV blow up agian.

It happend 12nd fire case at middle of slow charging.

Don't know if I believe it blew up. I would guess it ignited and burned. Huge difference. Li-on batteries, when shorted somehow can catch on fire. Kind of like an ice engine burning because of gasoline leaks. It happens. Be curious how many ice engines cars burn per model. Only three things required for fire... fuel, heat and oxygen. Given these three are carefully separated in any car, the possibility of fire in very low.
 
Hmmm....I guess the BMS update didn't work....

Spontaneous ignition....you can't really control that (like that Montreal Kona EV owner who lost his garage). But the recent Korean fires are pretty much when the Kona EVs were charging.

I note it says the car was in front of a slow EV chargepoint. I had thought this issue was limited to fast charging.
All I've read about were on AC charging, two on the portable unit. I don't see how it matters personally as there is no stored energy in the charging connection.
