What is meant by fender masking. To my eye it appears that the rear wheel skirt was removed. Was that hard to do? Never mind I get it now!

I own a 2018 black clarity and love it except those wheel skirts are Decidedly ugly

That plastic wrap looks like there was body-work performed, but it's just plastic wrap. That trick won't work for your black Clarity.

Tail light Lens. Gonna return my new Pixel phone - battery drains like crazy.

I see. Very subtle in the photos. Personally, I wouldn’t do anything to reduce the brightness of the tail lights. Particularly on a vehicle that has the ability to slow down without triggering the brake lights.

For what length of time will this spray tint maintain its tint?

Thanks for the comments. On my vehicle, the brake lamps are not on that panel, only running lights there and in dark, the LED shines through fine.

Just put the tint on, will see how long it lasts. Worst case spend another 10 mins each side in a few months I guess.

Wasn't ugly to begin with!

I will post pics of my white modified Clarity soon.
My goal is to make changes that a Honda stylist would have made to the car after the first year of terrible sales. In other words I don't what to "boy racer" it.
I took some ques from the Honda FC in California and painted the hubcaps gloss black instead of the boring factory gray. You may be able to find them on eBay used for around $65 a piece or you could buy $8 Krylon Fusion gloss black Paint & Primer in one and paint them yourself. (Btw: new from Honda ... $275).
Another que that I took from the FC is I had the top of my roof professionally painted gloss black. (Three coats of black and three coats of clear). It looks fantastic! Some people can't tell if it's paint or if it's a natural panoramic black glass roof. Honda FC paints the whole roof plus the rails black. I decided it looks better leaving the rails white and just painting the main portion of the roof.
To send it through a professional body shop this would probably cost between $800 and $1,000. My brother has a body shop and his painter was able to do it for me on one Saturday for under $400. (Perks of knowing people in the business.)
I could stop there and be perfectly happy. The only other two things I may consider is to upgrade the wheels with the modern smoked black Civic Si ones. Also, I've been reading all of your posts and looking at pictures of the blacked out rear skirts. My opinion and verdict is still out on that. I have to think about it a little bit longer.
Blacking out the wheel skirts with a wrap seems to be fairly cheap and inexpensive to do, so I will wait if/when I get the Civic Si black wheels to make my decision.
I posted a teaser picture so far. It's when the car was in the process of getting painted yesterday (4-9-22). I'll post a final picture next week once the roof is wet sanded and buffed out. It's what we call in the business a "cliffhanger".
Hey, I'm a part-time actor. What can I say?

The best mod is making the plastic wheel covers black. I think that's the color on the Clarity FC. The remaining alloy portions then look sleek and elegant. The current grey color makes the wheels look very busy. Should be an easy and cheap mod for any of us. Just buy a can of black primer and a can of gloss black spray paint.

Apart from that, the looks of the Clarity was a bonus for me. The shape is highly aerodynamic (hence the high rear end and wheel skirts) and all the vents are functional and some are even hidden (like those under the front bumper). Except for ultra high performance cars, vents are fake panels and add ons used to pretend performance (even those on the best selling Audis, BMWs, and Mercedes). Authenticity is important part of beauty for me. The styling of the Clarity is functional and authentic, which makes it one of the most beautiful cars out there.

I am going to do this using https://www.dipyourcar.com/collections/wheel-kits/color-black

Ours is a PHEV, but the look will be the same. The beauty of using dip is that it peels off if you change your mind. It can also be used to replicate that black roof in a non-permanent way. Time to sell? Peel it off. Back to factory color.

I put my opinion about the framing of the Clarity's rear wheels on a T-shirt. Coming from two 70-mpg gen-1 Honda Insights with actual fender skirts, I was predisposed to appreciate the Clarity's aerodynamic mini-skirts. Also, the rear wheel wells are one of the Clarity's most distinctive features, making these rare cars easy to identify.

Thanks for sharing Ronny. Looking forward to the reveal! I say go ahead with the wheel skirt wrap. As you said, it's cheap and easy to do, if you don't wind up liking it, then it can be removed.

Did some mods on my baby.

chrome delete
19” wheels
Smoked out the tail lights

now looking to lower it.
