Got my NACS Adapter

Toyota Released the NACS adapter for the EV models, I was first to the nearest dealership to go grab one. the Nearest EV go for me is like waiting in line at the opening day of some new theme park ride. 20 miles but an hour through I-4 traffic to fight the tourists at the local Whole Foods who are charging their EV's before returning them back to the airport. The nearest Tesla Super Charger is only 3 miles from my apartment. Not too mention I travel for work so that is a whole other topic. I am interested to see how this is going to work out. seems the pricing on Tesla is about the same at Electrify America - I will still use my free EV Go option since I just bought the car in August, but for now instead of fighting traffic or tourists or the fear of running out of charge. I will happily pay to charge closer to home. Shout out to Toyota for giving these out for free (although I would have paid for it :) )

Be sure to tell us about your first Supercharger experience (eg. was the charging cable long enough so you didn't have to take up 2 parking spaces?). Would the $13/month Supercharging Membership subscription to charge at the same cost as a Tesla be cost-effective in your situation?

So I went to the nearest one by me at the time. I am sad we can't use them all, we have a ton here at almost every WAWA which would have been super convenient. But nevertheless, I was able to go to the one nearby. It was after 11pm, I signed up for the 12.99 membership. that is less than Netflix so I am okay with using it. It is more than the Electrify America, but.... I only paid $0.31 cents/kwh to charge which would have otherwise been closer to $0.50 cents. Still from 7% to 97% was an hour and only cost a total of $18.15, which was way cheaper than I would spend filling up my Corolla Cross with Ethanol Free at over $4.00 a gallon. When I got to the location they had 12 stalls, only 2 other Teslas's were charging at the time (the EVGO near me only has 6 stalls and it is almost always a wait between tourists and the Waymos). I pulled in, unplugged the Cable, plugged it into the adapter and plugged in into the car. on the app selected the stall and charge now, just like normal. pretty seemless. I did not have to take up 2 parking spaces. and in an hour I was good to go... I can keep you posted about the membership. I will still be using my EVGO freebies that Toyota provided to me for the year, but I will also be using the Tesla Membership as well. You are allowed to Charge up to 5 times per day at a Tesla Center with the membership, I dont know who charges that much in a day unless they are traveling across country or unless they Uber or DoorDash or something. the most I have charged in a day is twice and that is to go from Orlando to Miami. Overall I am happy with my first experience, I am glad that Toyota made this an option for those of us who have the CCS. I have driven Toyotas most of my adult life. This is my first EV, and I will say I will probably not go back to gas.

My experience as well. Additionally no initialisation wait time I usually get at other DC chargers. Definitely will use when road tripping.
