I’m also new to the MINI brand. I’ve always admired the ICE MINI from afar since the reintroduction. But, I thought they were rather expensive for what you got. With the SE and the tax credit, all the boxes are checked for me.

I wonder if there are any trends on what people are switching from. I’d be interested is seeing if there are common brands, gas vs hybrid vs BEV, or if they are switching from SUVs, sedans, or what.

@Quiet Mini In the case of my wife and me, our 2022 SE wasn't a replacement, but an add-on to our existing ICE car—a 2014 BMW X1 (the last model built on the E90 3-Series platform). I've long wanted a Mini Cooper, but even the ICE version wasn't practical for us as an only-car. But with the X1 paid off, the Cooper SE was the perfect addition as my daily commute car. We're going to keep the X1 for now, but I'm hoping to replace it with a long-range EV within the next three to five years (I'm particularly interested in Volvo's next-gen EVs).

As an aside, while waiting to take possession of my SE at my dealer in December, I overheard one of the staff mention that the SE was their best-selling model. Whether that was just for the month or for the calendar year, I don't know, but I was happily surprised to hear that.
 
I probably have the strangest replacement vehicle. I had been driving a VW Vanagon Westfalia for years. I’m not going to know what to do with all the new fancy gadgets when my Mini finally arrives.

I had a Mini F55S 6spd prior. My intention initially was to get a cheap NEV but they weren't as cheap as I thought they'd be. When I stumbled on the SE, I jumped.

When it comes time for my spouse to replace his car, it will also be a BEV - but longer range.
