Hello,
I plan to buy a 16 A single-phase EV charger with Type 2 connector. I would be grateful for any advice and opinions on where to find decent equipment that will not cost a fortune and what things should I particullary pay attention to before buying the device.

Are you in Europe?

In North America, we use the J1772 connector, 120/240 VAC, 12-32A. I picked up a nice Chinese model, KHONS, that is dual voltage and current adjustable from 12-32A. The multiple current allows setting the charging current for what the source line can provide.

I'd recommend scanning EBay for "EV charger type 2".
