Disappointing A/C performance?

Random internet guy observation.

To me, the extra clicky is the tell:

With a proper quantity (always by weight) of refrigerant and assuming your evaporator is operating in accordance with manufacturer specifications, there will a charted specification for how often the compressor cycles, based on the ambient air (the hotter the air, the less cycling per minute).

I would have the dealer hook up his ac equipment, run the ac at maximum and note the high side and low side pressures.

My bet is you are somewhat low on refrigerant.
I was under the impression the AC (AC power) inverter compressor will ramp down RPM as opposed to the ol cycle ON/OFF setup. At least that's want occurs with heating using the heat pump, it will ramp down to a consistent (low) RPM to meet and maintain cabin temperature. I haven't tried to observe the Air Conditioning behavior.... yet.

You are probably correct.

My historical hands on experience with automotive a/c repair is limited to belt driven compressors running a straight forward air conditioning system; I have no automotive heat pump experience.

Repeating this request (was a bonus question in the OP of my Alexa thread).
You could easily do this with Home Assistant. I use Home Assistant as my smart home hub and there is a BMW ConnectedDrive integration which allows remote lock/unlock and climatization start/stop (as well as most connected vehicle data available, SoC, mileage, etc). From HA you could setup Google, Homekit, or Alexa commands/routines/shortcuts/etc.

Ah yes, but what if I don’t have a HomePod?

Edit: getting my home automation mixed up. My ecosystem is SmartThings-centred, using Alexa for voice control.
