That’s good news! I ordered mine on the same day so you have my hopes up now. Do you know if you are getting the full $5000 rebate or just the $3000?

The details on the govt site were pretty clear that if one reserved an EV prior to the change the 5000 grant would be honoured. Just make sure you have the paperwork/deposit info.

Well, my floor mars and complete set of window shades/reflectors have arrived. Hopefully my car arrives sooner than later.
Preferred model ordered May 3
Weird for me being this excited about a vehicle so much that I've pre purchased a bunch of accessories for it

I ordered May 3rd preferred red. I’ve done the same thing. When did they say yours is supposed to come?

Sorry but I am going to side track this thread a little more :). I've been holding off on accessories in lieu of installing a level 2 EVSE, now that is done I have turned my focus on finding a spare tire kit for the Kona as I thinks its total BS that they won't sell you one for the electric. Its BS because if your puncture is outside the tread area ,greater than 4 mm or you have managed to unseat the tire by driving on the flat your only recourse is to get flat bedded to a dealer/ tire store. I travel a fair amount of rural and this is not a great option for me.
If you do use the goop be prepared to be told its corrosive and hard to clean out and you may need to replace the TPS and tire anyways(regardless of serviceability) and obviously another $30 goop kit. Hyundai if your listening, I am fine with additional cost and whatever energy its cost me to carry an extra 25lbs around just freaking sell me a tire kit :)

They were honest; they said they honestly had no idea as there were a bunch of production and communication issues from Hyundai canada and Korea. They were hoping between July and Sept.
Yeah they’ve been pretty honest with me as well, Victoria Hyundai that 90-120 days and a week later ish they said mid August to September was the window most likely. Last update a couple days ago says probably January. UGH.

Someone in Spain installed a temporary spare into his Kona that fits in the back, see PDF instructions in this post

On the bright side maybe Hyundai will send you a Christmas card c/w a $100 gift certificate like they did with us on original pre-order list 2018

Update my car has landed in Victoria, and should I should be able to pick it up Tuesday. So 9 weeks, a week longer than I was told when I purchased it on Apr 23rd, but 2 weeks earlier than my last update. As for the rebate I was told that I would be under the old rules, but I will confirm that when I sign the paperwork.

That's pretty quick! Congratulations. Be sure to look it over closely as mine had 3 spots to be buffed out on the body exterior and a small rip in the steering wheel cover which I didn't discover till 4 months later.

Yeah it’s really sad how all over the place ordering and manufacturing is. How can a preferred ordered April 18th arrive at the end of July and the May 3rd order that was supposedly going to be 90-120 days is suddenly January 2020 while the April 18th is still on for July. Is the factory that disorganized that an established manufacturer can’t figure out what order to build and ship cars? It’s baffling.

LOL, I haven't posted for a while but this thread reminds me of all the original pre-order customers who ordered last year and had to wait a long time to got their cars Jan-March. All you excited new bucks with the same thoughts and questions we had lol. Until we got our cars then it was smooth sailing.
Jared Potter, you remind me of WildEyed lol :)

If anyone wants my suggestion, some of the dealerships get extra cars that are not pre-ordered. Hyundai ships extra cars on the boats and some dealers get them. They don't then ship them from dealer to dealer because there are earlier pre-orders, they just sit at that dealer till it sells. Go into a few dealerships, or call them, and see if they have any available. People also drop out of their reservations often. Many of the early buyers in Jan/Feb found their cars this way, and then just cancelled their own pre-order. Good luck to you guys, it is a fun vehicle to drive :)

I'm going to assume this is high praise! :)
