Climate Precondition while in the car charging...

I know most already know this, but you can charge the car, wait in it with the car "on" with accessory mode, and can turn on preconditioning with hondalink to stay warm (or cool in summer) while charging and listening to radio. Handy if you are waiting on someone, or just killing time...

It dawned on me after writing this, that this same tactic might work without being plugged in to avoid the ICE kicking in while sitting (idling) for longer periods of time.

Turn off the car.
Turn on accessory mode.
Turn on precondition with hondalink.

I bet the ICE won't kick on.

Thanks, didn’t realize you could pre condition while in accessory mode.

I wonder if the alarm will still sound if I open the door like it does in normal pre condition mode.
