Clarity Sightings

Ok. Let's take the Electric Engine Coolant Pump on your pdf. Its: A 3/36 B 15/150.

Since I live in Ca, if this pump goes out; I will receive a new one for free within 15/150? If I live in Miss, I am out of luck?

Is this done through the dealer? Can I get the part from them for free and install it myself?

Why is there a different warrantee by State? State laws?

If so, it's a good deal for those States , as they get their vehicle warrantee subsidized by the States not requiring the warrantee.

I still have trouble believing that they will just hand over a free pump at year 14.5:)
 
Wife and son saw a red one in Redding today with no license plates (in CA this is normal for a new car) so a very recent purchase. We're told there are seven of them in our little city.
 
I still have not sighted another Clarity. However my wife was in town last week and was at a stoplight. She said a man ran up from behind her car waving his arms. She lowered the window, he wanted to know if she liked the Clarity and that he was thinking about getting one. He said that this Clarity was the only one that he had seen on the road. She assured him that she loved the car. Maybe we will finally have a chance of seeing one "in the wild".
 
We took ours to Baja this week. I didn't see another one at all. I did see a handful of Volts, though.

It feels like we have the only one in Mexico. The border guard, who sees vehicles all day everyday for a living, said he had not seen one before.
 
I saw my 4th Clarity in Ann Arbor yesterday in a grocery store parking lot. I was aghast to see the driver park in a very narrow space between two other cars. We always park far from the madding crowd ("hinterlanding" we call it) to prevent door dings in our aluminum door skins. I positioned myself about 30 feet away, between the Clarity and the door of the grocery store. When the driver was within earshot, I accosted him, "How do you like your Clarity?"

He replied, "We like it very much, we've had it a few months."

I said "We've been driving our Clarity just over a year and love it. I'm a total Clarity nerd." I hoped the last part would get him to engage about what he likes best or what he wished he could figure out, but he only nodded. So I finished with, "Check out the Clarity forum on the InsideEVs website. It's loaded with great information." I would have said more, but didn't want to transition from nerd to weird-o (too late?), so I let him go buy his groceries without further interference.

It was daytime and the man who got out of his Clarity was bigger and younger than me, so I wasn't much of a threat. I don't believe men in Ann Arbor commonly carry mace, but I might find out I'm wrong the hard way.
 
Saw my first Clarity in the wild this morning while going for a walk near the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. Had to drive from Michigan to Tennessee to see the sight.

We drove south from NJ to FL (about 1100 miles) and then to NOLA and back to NJ (about 2300 miles). I did not spot a SINGLE Clarity past Virginia on the way south (I-95), and not ONE until we got back to DC area. I see one at least daily here in NJ (in addition to my neighbor's and my coworker's)
 
In my trip over the holidays (MD to IL and back), we saw a single PHEV (black Clarity in OH) the entire trip and I was definitely on the lookout.

Locally, I've now seen the same white Clarity on I-270 several times (still not in the HOV lane), my wife saw a green one a couple weeks back, and I saw what I assume was the same gray one I saw before right at my exit on I-270 just this morning.
 
I have neighbor that has one and I have seen several others north of Syracuse. I usually spotthem by the distinctive DRL's
 
I found this sight interesting. All the same color. You can see the difference in size when they are all next to each other.
