Has anyone every confirmed that later updates also fix earlier update issues?

I'm just curious if apply 097 will fix the range issue, for example, for those who have that problem and never applied that update.

Basically I'd just like to argue with the dealer about the latest issue (the charging fault, which I also experienced) and not have to go through the same convincing on the other ones too.

When I got the first 2 SB's applied, they had to be applied individually. It is not the latest would include all earlier updates.

I posted my results in another thread... Basically, 2 days after 18-097 was applied, the charging interruptions from ChargePoint L2 stations have disappeared.

I had the 18-097 update applied today and went and parked at the problem station at work (I have never had luck charging at this station and have had a great deal of frustration here that I have documented in the past).

It charged with no problems (I was only down a few kw) and no need to restart. If you're having trouble with some charging stations, please go to your dealership and ask them to apply this update. It is a HUGE relief to have this fixed.

Here's my typical charge chart BEFORE the update:

There is an energy screen in the Clarity that makes it look like the battery is not charged if your estimated range is less than EPA rated range.

Are you looking at the battery gauge, or the range estimate gauge to know that the car is not charged all the way? It sounds like it really isn't charging all the way, but I want to be sure. I am presuming you can put it back on the charger and it finishes?

I charge at home using a ChargePoint and have never had it stop prematurely when I didn't have a wiring problem to my unit :)
This happened to me a couple of times on a level 2 charger. I suspected It could be from the battery being a little hot from climbing a long grade, and then immediately plugging in to a level 2 charger and getting the battery even hotter.

Really good news to see. So prior to the update, this EVSE was TRYING to give you around 5.6kW and after the update it was still trying to give you 5.6kW and your car was now accepting it. Longest continuous duration was around 30 min before and the latest session was 50 minutes (only because battery reached full cap). Based on the Honda bulletin, I would have expected the charge rate to decrease for problem chargers such as this.

CONFIRMED: CHARGING PROBLEM NOW SOLVED

I have now charged three times at my work charger without any hiccup at all. The charging starts at the start and continues smoothly with no stops. Prior to having the software update installed, I had *NEVER* charged continuously until fully charged at this location. I constantly had to start charging using the app. I can confidently mark this issue now as FIXED.

Thanks, Honda - this was one of my biggest frustrations.

Great to hear its fixed! Thanks a bunch to the people on this forum I wouldn't have known about this problem... sounds like I'll need to schedule a fix with the dealer in case I need to use a lvl 2 station on a road trip :)

Can you please provide the software update number that fixed your problem SB-???

Thanks in advance

Not sure if this is a best place to ask, my used 2018 Clarity stops charging when the battery level reaches the second to last notch on the battery gauge, around 60km. Is that a battery degradation, an issue with the car/charger or some sort of the battery long term life saving setting? I believe the battery range should be closer to 80km.

Thanks!

PS. Given how half-baked the whole head unit/steering wheel remote controls are maybe it's too much to ask, but seriously how hard was it to have the color of the car in the info screen match the actual car color?!

You didn't show the battery gauge, you showed the range gauge. The range gauge varies according to the efficiency of your previous drives. Does your battery gauge in the instrument cluster not indicate a full charge after charging is complete?

Ah, you're right, the battery gauge is full. I live on the steep mountain and maybe the car is trying to adjust for it.
