Clarity handling opinions.

Isn't the regen level independent of which mode you're in? The way I understand it, when you use the left paddle to increase the regen, it sticks in SPORT Mode, unlike the way it shortly resets back to the lowest level of regen in ECON and NORMAL Modes.

Interestingly, while the regen level sticks in SPORT Mode, the Clarity won't stick in SPORT Mode after you power the car down. I don't see that as a big problem, but I sure wish the car would stick in HV mode if you leave it in that mode when you power the car down.
Also Sport Regen is cancelled if you apply ACC. I use ACC a lot even around the city so the regen thing doesn't generally work for me.

The car could definitely use a stiffer suspension system. It does not handle bumps very well at all. I can't wait for an aftermarket product to become available, at least some stiffer shocks/springs.

I agree. that's if you plan to go off roading

Overpass transitions on some freeways in Northern California is not forgiving for this car. My 2015 Prius PHEV handles these bumps/dips way better than the Clarity, sorry. My 11 and 6 YO boys can attest to that.

I have found that some bridges on the freeways I use are way too uneven to drive at the posted speed limit. When it's that bad I have learned to slow down. But respect your right to a different opinion about the suspension. Make sure your tires are properly inflated. From the dealership mine were over inflated to 50psi

It's not a sports car. The ride is supple and the cabin is quiet like a luxury car. Seeing it as a luxury car, the handling is remarkably good. Steering response is precise and quick and I was surprised how composed it is on curvy mountain roads. That's amazing because the Clarity's low resistance green tires are known to be worse handling than regular A/S tires. To improve handling, just replace them with performance A/S tires.
