I submitted the dash cam to "Wham Blaam Tesla Cam" only to discover my e-mail address was wrong. But you can't correct a bad e-mail if you can't get the e-mail to correct the bad e-mail . . . Catch 22. So I have no idea if the video will ever show up so this is my tale of woe and joy.
Driving home after rush hour in Chill mode, I was listening to tunes and planning my day. Suddenly my Model 3 (Blue Bobs) steered to the shoulder and applied a heavy brake.
A compact car had exited a divided highway behind me and quickly passed on the driver side lane. Just as he got along side, he steered into my lane, over a tire width past the lane line while along side. The software formerly known as Full Self Driving detected the threat and dodged to the shoulder and rapidly slowed down avoiding a nasty side-swipe:
I am reminded that one month after getting Blue Bobs with Autopilot, $1,200, it saved me and my family from medical micro-sleeps on a raised road with a deep ditch, power poles, and fencing off the shoulder. Autopilot paid for the car in April 2019 and I have been grateful ever since.
