Canada allows Chinese EVs into market

Will the failed US-Canada trade deal lead to an increase of the import quota of Chinese EVs into Canada?

Best thing ever is for Canada:

The typically usual "sorry but" best thing ever is for Canada to rid itself of Detroit Auto shenanigans. Leave the legacy auto lacklustre boring vehicles for the Americans and move into the future.;)
I was expecting Trump to close the new Gordie Howe International Bridge between Detroit and Windsor last week. The damage being done to the US' and Canadian auto industry in so many ways is beyond calculation.

I worry about privacy and data issues, how knows what's getting sent back from cameras...

I think security and spying is a legitimate issue with those cars, and I wonder how they will resolve that. Having said that we now have all kinds of Chinese drones, dash cams, home security systems, etc, so this is nothing new. Heck, Tik Tok is probably the greatest risk, and it still hasn't been banned.
This is pretty much scare mongering. There are modems, software, cameras, etc. in all new cars and trucks. It is mostly to update systems and do fixes to your car. There are easier and better ways to get sensitive information from others besides using cars and trucks. We all use smart phone and computers these days. Hackers got into NASA a few years ago and get into all sorts of other businesses these days. Don't get caught up in this political game from governments and competition trying to scare you into staying away from their competition.

Chinese Made Cars Are Not Only Coming To Canada But They May Be Manufactured Here In The Not Too Distant Future

That will be more competition for Legacy Automakers.
