The BMW electric i3 Touring (still not confirmed for North America), has finally been spotted in the wild:

Why there's camouflage on the front is a mystery--I'm sure the front end will look just like that of the i3 sedan. Can't wait to see the uncamouflaged side mirror!

Don't worry, BMW is not adopting the windshield-wiper parking strategy from the Ferrari Luce.

Well it's nice to see it's not an SUV shape. Do the rear seats fold flat, being similar to the MINI Clubman? The photo makes it seem pretty long, though.

Google says Carscoops said on Facebook: "The upcoming all-electric BMW i3 Touring (built on the Neue Klasse platform) features rear seats that fold completely flat." Undoubtably, sources with more reliability will be forthcoming.

I thought maybe this new i3 would be worth looking at as a substitute for the defunct MINI Clubman, but after seeing what BMW is doing with abusing the infotainment system I'm going to avoid the brand and keep hoping this crap doesn't happen to my beloved BMW sub-brand MINI.

Oh, you're talking about the beloved EV sub-brand BMW exported to China. I'm sure the company is very proud of its abused infotainment system. What are the chances they'll develop a different infotainment system for the next MINI (if they deign to make a next MINI EV car)?

In a few years, my next EV car will likely be a BMW i3 because there's no MINI Cooper SE, I don't want a Tesla or a Fiat, and can't afford a Porsche or a Lucid. I'll get used to it. I hope I won't have to buy a subscription for heated seats.
