BMW high power charging working for NACS CCS1 adapter at TSCN

According to my Lectron contact Only U25 has SC access and F56 doesn’t, possibly i3 doesn’t as well. Our cars use a slightly different handshake method. They aren’t sure if the issue will be resolved

Plug & Charge and Autocharge are both different systems.
Yes, and my intent with that comment was to highlight that the difference in compatibility between the U25 and F56 for these two different systems seems to support the "different handshake method" comment from your Lectron contact.

Looks like the our SEs will not be compatible..
From the MINI website…

Hate that MINI got our hopes up with that letter.

I’m still holding out hope they they’ll maybe provide a software update (would likely have to be done by the dealership) to enable support.

I think it's probably a physical limitation of FlexRay that isn't compatible with Canbus via the control pilot pin. The magic dock would convert Canbus to ISO 15118 to powerline comms similar to TCP/IP.

Any other handshake issues like TLS could be dealt with....must be hardware related.

Tried my nearest SC earlier. Didn't work. App went almost straight to 'charging history', car span a while on 'calculating'. I tried calling Tesla support. After 15minutes on hold then getting past the robot,I go through to a guy whose only information was that one stall was down. As shown on the app. He could not access any history or charging attempts for any vehicle. Apparently I need to get Mini to diagnoses why I can CCS charge but not supecharge a car that supposedly now has access?

I'm not impressed.

F56 does not have SC access

Exactly this

Ugh. Then it's pretty much physically impossible to reconcile canbus to FlexRay because the latter operates at 2.0V differential compared to 3.3V (to ground) on canbus. That's essentially what the magic dock is doing by spoofing it.

Level shifting is pretty simple. It's actual protocol that's tricky.
I just called Mini. They confirmed that the F56 is not currently supported by superchargers. They do not have any idea when or even if it will be enabled.

well what do you want me to tell you? We don’t have SC Access.. stop crying about it. They won’t enable it for an older platform
I'm venting. I had a letter a year ago from Mini, strongly implying that I'd get SC access this year. I've spent $200 on an adaptor thats 'supports' Minis, it now appears that SC access was all horseshit.
