Blazer EV

After more than two years and 28,000 miles, when I fully charged my Blazer ev rwd rs to 100%, my Blazer indicates I can drive it 326 miles. In other words I have no battery degradation and actually an increase of 2 miles from when the Blazer was new. It has always seemed to me that there has been very little to no battery degradation and I wanted to find out. That's why I charged to 100%. Any comments or opinions?

I have the same car and the same distance on the odometer...I agree...not much degradation. the range at 100% is a guess ...and it changes by how you drive recently.
I have been monitoring the estimated 100% range over 2 years...it fluctuate by season and speed of driving etc...but in the chart below i estimate the range at 100% at every charge...the way high numbers is when i do low speed drives....most of my driving is at 75 mph...
You can see the average is still pretty flat...degradation should show a downward trend in the red line...one can see cold weather affects range most.

Still, if you’re seeing essentially the same range as when the Blazer was new, it suggests the battery is holding up extremely well. I’d be very happy with those results after more than two years of ownership.

I am. I was just wondering if the readout I get on my mileage is always going to show no degradation even if the is some.

Battery chemistry tells you there is degradation...but i suspect it is 1 to 2% only over 2 years ...i.e why we can't notice it yet...let's see how it goes over the next few years...once it reaches larger than 5% i suspect we'll notice it.

Thank you and I am well aware of what you stated. My point, which I did not make clear, was the read out was 326 miles when I fully charged my car to 100% recently. Which means there has been no degradation. My driving habits and environment have stayed constant. So I am wondering if the reading is just inaccurate?

Oh there are people who drives at 40 to 50 mph always ...and their max range at 100% will be near 400 miles. The onboard computer adjust the range on the Guess-o-meter by adjusting over the last few times you drove and charged,,,,that 326 miles you are seeing is a combination of your recent miles/kWh and counting how much energy you put in. When it is very cold weather I see mine go to less than 270 miles at 100% and in spring and fall it will go to 340 miles.
All I am saying is the guess-o-meter range is not the state of health of your battery.
I believe some OBDII readers may give you what the BCM believes is the State of Health of your battery...i.e how much of the original capacity it is.

Anyways from my estimate over 2 years of data collection and +27000 miles...I estimate my car's battery degradation is at worst 2%

Thank you. As in my previous message, I understand how the battery and mileage worked before I bought the car and my driving habits and driving conditions have stayed the same. I will be an optimist and believe there has been 0 degradation. A GM ev tech will be calling me. I am wondering if any of the updates have increased my mileage? I love my car and I am just interested in finding out. Thanks for your input.
