Did they fix the issue with the integrated cooling plate directly above the epoxy SMC underbody panel? I mean two Canadian vehicles were quoted $60k CAD to replace the entire battery pack.

In InsideEVs' Ioniq 5 forum, @Sandroad says no big deal. The big deal is when a carmaker "forgets" to put a rear wiper on a hatchback. If the Ioniq 5N has one, why can't every I5 customer at least get one as an extra-cost option?

It's no big deal if the cooling plate is above the battery tray, but it's a fully integrated hot (cold) pocket tray for weight savings. I've had my fair share of running over ice chunks and ripping apart plastic underbody panels so I am grateful that MINI went the route of laser welded prismatic cells encased in a metal module with downsized BMW i3 cooling grates (per module).

I5 customers can upgrade to the Genesis GV60 with the rear wiper blade delete and rear spoiler delete. Seems to work just fine!

I will never buy a Hyundai again. I owned a 2016 Hyundai Tucson Limited that had a terrible transmission. By far, the worst driving car I've ever been in and I include my parents' early 80's Plymouth Reliant wagon in that list. Hyundai service failed to fix the problem too so we sold the car. We tried to lemon it because it was at the dealership so much, but they wouldn't do it so we gave up.

Hyundai has a reputation of cutting pretty big corners and when those cost cutting measures cause problems, they don't stand behind the product.

The Ioniq 5 has a design flaw too with the inadequate shield protecting the battery and the cost of replacement exceeds the value of the car. Check out this recent video describing recent consumer experiences with a small road incident that caused minor damage but resulted in a total loss.

 
Personally I don't think a front titanium skid plate would have solved the problem. It's the fact that the integrated cooling plate is a "hoseless" design that runs through serpentine channels requires an entire battery pack+tray replacement.

The closest analogy I could come up with was replacing the traditional fish taco as a fish lettuce wrap. Kind of lame, but maybe someone can think of a better one!
 
Tbf, that's a Kamm. The low pressure area is behind the tail, with plenty of airflow sweeping the glass.

It still seems odd that the fourth-gen Prius has a wiper on a nearly horizontal rear window.

Elon likes to leave out lots of stuff, such as instrumentation in front of the driver. At least he's consistent--no Tesla gets a rear wiper.

When Hyundai included a rear wiper on the Ioniq 5N, they essentially admited the omission of a rear wiper on the previous I5 models was a cost-saving measure. Why not include the wiper as part of the top I5 Limited trim? They'd sell more Limiteds and make more money on each one. Why should customers have to pop for the 641-horsepower monster just to get a rear wiper?
 
Spent about 15-20 mins with a Highland updated model 3 today and wow this is the car they should have built from the start. Interior quality is on par with the Mini / BMW

Frustration - Recently had to wait in line at a DC Super Charger with only a CHAdeMO and a J1772 connection. A Tesla had an adapter to allow their Tesla to connect to J1772's hose. Now I am buying a Tesla adaptor for sure. Any recommendations?

I don't believe there is an adapter that will let you use a Tesla Supercharger with your MINI Electric. There are adapters that will let you use an AC Level 2 Tesla Destination Charger, however.
 
I keep a Lectron 48A adapter handy as an alternative to the TeslaTap.

At this rate I'd also consider the A2Z Stellar plug for $113, but you could also get the A2Z Typhoon J3400/NACS adapter & J1772 for $294 bundled. Nobody knows if the Typhoon plug will work, but apparently it works for Ford.
