Add ons at the dealer

Hi All,

I'm not very happy with my Mini dealer in North Carolina. They've irked me with their antics and in particular the complete lack of communication.

My wife's mini SE iconic is docking in Brunswick tomorrow morning on the Hawaiian Highway. When I collect the car, I really do not want to give the dealer any more business (warranty bs etc) but I don't want to cut off my nose to spite my face either. Is there anything essential that I should look at to add-on?

Be sure to check for loose front aero-shutters. Check both left and right sides.

The only thing I added to my Iconic was the MINI rubber rear cargo mat, which is nice. I didn't get it from my dealer, however--it's available from many other vendors. The only thing I didn't like about my SE was the fake hood scoop, so I had that removed by replacing the hood with a base MINI hood. Now, nearly 2 years later, I still consider my SE to be the finest car I've owned in 50 years. The most fun, too!

Tomorrow is the day, We are picking up my wife's Mini Cooper SE iconic in Chilli Red. Any last minute tips, stuff to check please? Is the SOS still an issue?

This car does not have the heated steering wheel or alarm system, What should I be looking at $$ wise to get back for these missing items?

Check to be sure the aero shutters in the front grille aren't loose. Your order sheet should list any rebates you're due for missing items. I believe the heated steering wheel gets you $100 back.

Ask your dealer to set (or show you how to set) both the Level 1 and Level 2 charging rates to max and to please charge your SE to 100%.
 
A good MA should sit down with you (in the car), and show you how to work the features. If you've had a Mini before, they should show you the new features you didn't have. And they should cheerfully answer all of your questions. All of my MA's have done this (I've been at this for a while.)

They gave me credit for the $350 for steering wheel and $100 for alarm…however not really a credit, they just don’t add it in with the items on the sticker. Not a big deal for alarm, I don’t really notice it since lights still flash and since I live in Hilton Head, heated steering wheel no biggie. These were for the iconic trim
 
I just tested, it does flash once on lock and twice on unlock. Both via fob and with door. I swear it didn't used to do that...
