2022 MINI SE Tire change effect regen?

I understand the standard tire size for the vehicle 205/45R17 for the 17in wheels, but I purchased a 215/50R17. Once I started to drive it I felt the regen was off. The larger tire was amazing difference with the pot holes and bumps in the city, but I feel the regen is off. Is this possible? Has anyone changed the size of the tires to a larger one?

My experience with much larger tires is that there is less compression braking and more brake pedal pressure required because of the longer tire moment arm. Also your actual speed is more than the indicated.

Dunno if your size difference matters. What is the % difference in the tire size (diameter or circumference).

I feel like the regen is weaker for the first couple of ticks from 100. ;)
It's a bit crazy how sensitive/calibrated you can become to the regenerative braking behaving a certain way. Driving the same roads all the time at almost exactly like same speed, I have certain "lift off" points at which I simply take my foot off the accelerator and glide to a stop right at the line . . . unless, of course, the battery is at 100%, in which case I have to use the brake pedal to avoid overshooting the mark by a car length or so (stopping from 40 mph).

Your circumference is like 10% bigger, so you'll need to compensate most things in the opposite direction just to break even.

Then, there's the extra unsprung weight and more rolling resistance. So, I would expect that things would be different.

I thought that the regen felt less aggressive when I wasn't in sport mode, but someone here said it's the same. Since then, I've been switching between sport and normal modes, and I think it's the accelerator pedal lag, either on/off. In sport mode, it feels like there's less lag either direction.

Also, I can feel the mechanical brakes when I'm at 100% charge bc they don't brake as hard compared to the regen braking, when I lift off a little.

Mechanical brakes are braking a car as SE the same way as gas car that’s why they call mechanical - pistons to compress fluid to brake caliper cylinder transfer to brake friction pads hitting a rotor .Regen is working with with electric motor and as charge is100% is less braking but after 2-5 miles motor is doing regen braking as well if a charge is 10% we must learn how to avoid braking pedal as milage improves using Regen as I learn driving for 11 years I3 and SE .SE never less minimum 120 miles with hard drive only on SPORT mode Regen Regen Regen My2022 SE now 30000miles without SPORT mode never will be purchased by me on a different modes a car is sluggish all over the road and feel like cheap DIY contraption as previous I3 was fast on straight line with rear drive setting but SE is 100% better car
