2022 MINI SE Tire change effect regen?

I understand the standard tire size for the vehicle 205/45R17 for the 17in wheels, but I purchased a 215/50R17. Once I started to drive it I felt the regen was off. The larger tire was amazing difference with the pot holes and bumps in the city, but I feel the regen is off. Is this possible? Has anyone changed the size of the tires to a larger one?

My experience with much larger tires is that there is less compression braking and more brake pedal pressure required because of the longer tire moment arm. Also your actual speed is more than the indicated.

Dunno if your size difference matters. What is the % difference in the tire size (diameter or circumference).

Are you keeping the charge topped up to help compensate for the 15-20% reduced efficiency? I feel like the regen is weaker for the first couple of ticks from 100.

It's a bit crazy how sensitive/calibrated you can become to the regenerative braking behaving a certain way. Driving the same roads all the time at almost exactly like same speed, I have certain "lift off" points at which I simply take my foot off the accelerator and glide to a stop right at the line . . . unless, of course, the battery is at 100%, in which case I have to use the brake pedal to avoid overshooting the mark by a car length or so (stopping from 40 mph).

Your circumference is like 10% bigger, so you'll need to compensate most things in the opposite direction just to break even.

Then, there's the extra unsprung weight and more rolling resistance. So, I would expect that things would be different.
