To my pleasant surprise, it seems that the MINI OS9 update now allows for FLAC bluetooth streaming (via aptX?). After tweaking the 7 band equalizer and the surround sound, the music is MUCH better.

That was one of my grips with the lack of data with the USB-C ports, but I am fine with this workaround. As for AM radio, you would probably need a device that supports bluetooth streaming. Maybe there are some MINI Connected apps, but you probably need a subscription.

Did MINI also dump the AM radio from the new gas MINI's with the OS9 electronics? So glad to have that band in my SE during March Madness!

I'd imagine that AM radio is dumped for the ICE models as well. There are alternative methods with Android Auto or Apple Carplay, however.

Is there a filter app that can downgrade the audio from those options to sound like AM radio? Baseball season is nigh.
Yeah, but that generally involves two people. You would have to use your phone to call a local number and the person on the other line would put you on speakerphone by the AM radio broadcast (or TV feed if you fancy). Not only will you be able to listen to AM radio, but you can also share your drive-thru order at Culver's (RIP T.G.I. FRiDAY'S) thanks to the two-way communication!
