I had the same thought! I'm chomping at the bit to see my 2022 in person. Delivery date not yet known.
Which one? The "lazy editing" or "... my failing eyesight in old age"? Ha, ha. Actually, both may be true, now that I think of it!
So is piano black exterior an additional package that costs money? I never saw the option to add this package. We ordered a signature if that matters, but haven't received the build number yet so maybe it can be changed...
I don't think this has been posted yet but after digging around on Miniusa's website I found the 2022 ordering guide listing all of the options and packages (SE starting on page 12) and the pricing guide with package limitations: https://s3.amazonaws.com/minimedia.iconicweb.com/mediasite/attachments/2022_MINI_2-DOOR_HARDTOP_ORDERING_GUIDE.pdf https://s3.amazonaws.com/minimedia.iconicweb.com/mediasite/attachments/2022_MINI_2-DOOR_HARDTOP_EQUIPMENT_OPTIONS_AND_PACKAGE_PRICING.pdf
Thanks. If I am reading that correctly I noticed two things. Iconic gets active cruise control where the others trims get dynamic cruise control with an option to add ACC (plus parking assist) for $750. Bonnet strips are not available on any SE.
I'm very confused about my signature order, the dealership says when they entered the car there was no option for wheels in the system (and no codes show up on my build order for wheels). There should be two options, revolite spoke silver or victory spoke black. The default (and one we want) is revolite spoke silver, but the tracker on the website shows neither of these and instead shows the revolite spoke Anthracite (see attached)... The Revolite Spoke Anthracite don't even appear in the ordering guide listing that Carsten Haase just posted (which is a bit weird). They are in the 2022 Visual Guide (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1r-rVLaJ7yi2sFWOV6WdkObrJOo9J_O93/view), but don't appear to be available for electrics....wtf?
It is definitely a very confusing process at the moment... keep in mind that the documents from the links I posted are dated Jan 2021 so its possible things have changed since then. Mini UK has their online configuration working but the option packages are completely different so it's not much help. I wish Mini US would get their act together... My order has been put in for a signature but I have no idea what I'm actually getting other than a moonwalk grey exterior.
Your salesperson can put bonnet stripes on the order. My stripes (and roof rack) will be applied at the US port when my 2022 arrives.
I could be wrong, but I believe they have locked the piano black trim into the Iconic trim only and don’t allow it on Signature or Sig Plus.
Got it, makes sense. Actually, I've convinced myself that green with white top/mirrors probably goes better with chrome accents anyways, so I'm just going to leave order as is. Looking forward to this car despite the bizarre order process!
Hi all, completely newbie here. Couple of seniors (upper 70s) here who just this week started Looking at getting a 2022 Mini Cooper SE. History - have had two cars all of our married life (54 years). Sold off our 2015 Chevy Impala last year per suggestion of son-in-law. And I agreed, with us both retired, we are always together in one car. Plus one less to change oil on. Wife not wild about it but went alone. Discovered this week, Mini had an electric option. The car that my wife always says "There's a Mini." Wow, this completely works for us. No oil changes for me, good for the environment and range not an issue as we have a Honda CRV for longer trips. So, had a test drive of 2021 yesterday and loved it. Our corvette in our old age. Loved the car and definitely want to get one. Glad I found this forum to get great info - Thank you GvilleGuy. Now the issue, thought the dealer would be able to help us build a car since they apparently are all currently made to order. First thing he did was bring up the "Build a Mini" website which I had been playing with at home. Salesman had to go to manager to determine some of the options. As stated previous, not acceptable to use 2021 info to order a 2022. Salesman said in April the website should be available for building a 2022. Said I would wait so I was sure what level I needed. Sig sig+ or iconic. Don't like to pay extra for a things i don't need and will never use. Thank you Torrey for the info on ACC. That is the one feature I love on our Honda. Was really confused be cause I had seen the parking assist and ACC for $750 but did not understand which level was required to be able to have it. So as I expected, I can get it on the Signature level. The one issue, wife does not want black interior since we are in Colorado with a very hot sun. With the current website, that is the only option. Anyone know if that stays the same for the 2022 model? TIA, DeWayne
Welcome to this forum full of SE enthusiasts! Have you seen the Visual Order Guide? It will be interesting to see what misinformation it may contain after MINI gets around to letting customers build cars on their website.
Yes, I have viewed that but I did not see anything that identified what is available for each level. Sig Sig+ or Iconic.
I took a look through the packages docs Carsten Haase posted and unfortunately I couldn't come to a definitive answer on this. We were told by the dealership that on the signature + model we couldn't have the carbon black leatherette (main reason we downgraded to signature trim, didn't like the leather or cloth options). That corresponds with what options are listed in those docs, so it seams like maybe on the signature trim only carbon black leatherette is available.
There are some specifics for the Iconic trim level in posts on this page. I don't remember anyone posting exactly what comes with Signature or Signature Plus trim levels, however.
Thank you. After downloading the order guides from above by Carsten Haase and Torrey, I think what I need to do is build a car, save it and then I believe a will be able to see the ordering guide if I understood the salesman correctly. Then will I be able to decipher the ordering guide to see if I can figure it out. Thank you insightman for the link.
Oh, btw, when I attempted to build-a-mini earlier today, did receive a message they were updating the site to handle 22 models. Does appear different than yesterday.
