Saw a BRG SE with body color roof on the road near Southdale in Edina (for anyone local) this morning.

    Hi

I am not that car but I am in San Francisco. Just picked up ours January 9th and don't have a plate yet.

Last week I saw 2 SE. One near Stanford and one in Marin.

  4. Spotted 3 SE's within a 24 hour period yesterday! A Chilli Red at night in the burbs, then a Moonwalk Grey in the afternoon in Downtown, and a Midnight Black an hour later! It's no wonder there were no SE's available to me since I started looking in November - they're selling like hot cakes!

The the old, un-aerodynamic 2020/21 MINI Cooper SEs (110-mile EPA range) have traditional fog lamps. The 2022 MINI Cooper SEs (114-mile EPA range) replaced the fog lamps with slots that create a wind curtain to reduce the drag of the front wheels. The 2022 MINI Cooper SEs still have a form of fog lamps, but they've been moved up from the traditionally low position for fog lamps to live in the same buckets as the headlights.

It’s interesting that the pre 22 SE’s had a different nosecone/grille that presumably was for aerodynamics but the 22 on has the gas car grille (which I prefer) and still gets an extra 4 miles of range…

All of my S's had foglights in the usual (traditional) location. I'm not so fond of the new ones. Yeah, they light up the sides of the road, but the previous low-mounted ones were more helpful in inclement weather (fog, rain, snow, dust). I'm thinking of installing after-market fogs, but the wiring is giving me pause. (I also prefer amber lenses for the lights.)

Same. I see so many MINIs, practically a Rule #1 every time I park, and yet I can't find a single other SE. Been looking for over a year, before I even had mine.

Wait -- there are other SE's?? I have never seen another on the road in the East Bay. Crazily I see 30 Teslas every 10 minutes driving. In the week I've had my SE I have gotten plenty of surprised looks. There isn't another EV that I would want at this point.

Did you get surprised looks from any Tesla drivers? Many on this forum own both a Tesla and a MINI Cooper SE--they wouldn't be surprised, just happy. Those forum members would be prompted to wave, but then sheepishly pull down their hands, wishing they had been driving their SEs when they saw you. I doubt most Tesla owners, however, know there is such a thing as an electric MINI Cooper--that assumption comes from experiences attending Drive Electric Week events with my SE.

  16. Same here, and some even expressed they didn’t knew MINI made electric ones.

I'm not reserved in my driving practices, and have gotten many surprised looks from Tesla and Dodge Charger drivers alike. Anyone who has asked me about my car always says "I didn't know there was an electric MINI"!! Of course, 4 months ago I was saying the same thing...

I think the only other SE I've seen was on the dealer's lot (the one I passed up for a much nicer color). And, yes, on some days, I see multiple Teslas. I guess that means driving an SE is more exclusive.

^ Of course it's more exclusive, just look at production numbers alone!

Not going to name the location, but I was very excited to see my first SE on my way to work today. I'd already spotted practically every other EV for sale in the US, so my bucket list is now complete. ;)

I saw 2 SEs in the neighborhood next to mine yesterday/today. I had only seen a 2021 before this, long before I received mine.

If anyone lives near Ortega Hwy, shout out.

I picked up mine Feb 15th. I still have not seen another SE in the bay area yet.

Have yet to see an SE in TriValley. Hell, Teslas outnumber even ICE MINIs 30:1 here. It makes me feel special
