Maybe yours is not a candidate then? I received all of an Email, Snail Mail, and Bluelink APP Notification from Hyundai about the recall 200 for my car. Oh, and my VIN was on that site you mentioned.
So I called my dealer the other day and he said my car does have an open recall. It’s for a BMS software update. He noted other Kona’s have had charging limitations but mine has not, at least yet. Again all this was from a phone call that I made to the dealer. Hyundai has not contacted me in any manner. Wouldn’t of even thought to call if it wasn’t for this forum.
I am not in a panic over this recall, but Hyundai's handling of communications with owners ia breathtakingly bad.
My local dealer told me on Friday that my car has SIX recalls, one of which "has no remedy yet" - of course I knew which one that was. But six? SIX? Has anyone else been told they have that many? I know I haven't had the brake software update yet, but I did have the BMS update last year, in fact I think I had 2 software updates (recalls) last year.
I think somebody is reading the wrong column. Original battery software fix ( the one that didn't cut the mustard), brakes, big battery recall and some American customers have mentioned a charging cable issue. I am not aware of any others unless there were some literally two years ago which I have blissfully forgotten.(and I believe there are)
Some people got that rubberized cover for the granny charger also - they considered that a recall I think.....
Now that I think about it the rubberized cover is probably the charging cable issue you refer to, Wildeyed....
When I was in last week for the 80% battery setting recall, there was another BMS one that I refused because I didn't know what it was. Since then I learned it was from back in Dec, long before this latest battery recall. What I don't understand is why they didn't do it when I had the car in a couple months ago, Feb, and they did a couple recalls then, incl a BMS, I think. Anyway, I am taking it in again tomorrow morning to get this outstanding one done, and I will be all caught up.
When I asked my service guy a couple of weeks ago, he seen about the charge cover. I thought there was one about checking for coolant or a leak of some kind , over a year ago.
Really?! In Canada? I've literally never heard of it. Nor has anyone ever mentioned it on this forum to my recollection. Odd.
Yes, I remember that now in the dark recesses of the past. I think my brain is protecting itself by suppressing the traumatic history. But still, to have 6 outstanding service campaigns you would have had to have a two+ year old car that had never had a service visit at all, completely neglected.
Yup, it was listed as a recall, and they just added a rubber cap. Not sure why, but they seem to think it was important enough to warrant a recall.
Interesting. Unless my dealership elves snuck into my trunk on a service visit to fix it and never told me about it as far as I'm concerned this has never been done. BTW my charging cable is still in the wrapper in the trunk. I've literally never seen it.
Just searched back, and found when I did it, back in early Feb. Here is my post about it. https://insideevsforum.com/community/index.php?threads/hyundai-kona-ev-recall-199.10072/page-5#post-121405
Yup, clearly I'm forgetting these things as soon as they're done. Do you think it's because of the really great and informative names? How could you ever forget the good old VCULCDC!
I think I got that, but can't remember if it was fir the Kona or my prev Ioniq plus granny cable....but i thought latest was for something related to the connection behind the charge door.
