it could be.. They didn't seem to know the reason why the update was failing..

    I’m in Vernon, BC.
FYI. I booked a couple of weeks ago to have winter tires switched on tomorrow. When I called to confirm the appointment today, I was told they will be keeping the car longer for the recall service. So, recall service is proceeding here in Canada too.

Between reading the TSB and seeing the recall work is only taking 2-3 hours, it seems clear the Hyundai is NOT physically dropping and inspecting each battery. They are just updating software. Did I read something wrong?

I don't use Bluelink. Have no need for it.

  6. ”Inspect” does not imply that it’s visual nor that the battery should removed. Best as we understand the software alone makes an assessment.

Bluelink (whenever it is working) is great to check car status.. remotely climatize, lock, unlock, locate the car etc. etc..
Whenever it's working, it's a great tool.. Problem is that it often has issues.

I'd bet that they are looking at cell group voltage variations...

Thats probably it. I believe they can check for ground faults as well.

Unless there is something specific to look for, a visual inspection won't tell you much. Plus you would need the lift table and special coolant.

Looks like the last update is happening right now.. My car finally shows range again.. It started at 168 mile range at 75% (dropped it off with 225 mile range at 75%).. Now, it's up to 212 miles at 74%..

For sure.. It's unlikely that it includes a physical battery inspection..

Just scheduled mine for a week after Thanksgiving (earliest the dealership could do was the day before Thanksgiving -- I think they have one tech who does hybrid and electric).

Had my appointment today (Friday) for recall /. it took 1.5 hours plus tire rotation. Seems all is well.

Please report back on charge times.

I charge it-slow charging-at 100% twice a week at night while I sleep. Sorry, is this what you meant? Have done this for one and one-half years with no problems.

No, I meant the quick charging issues people have reported

Sorry again-I can't help you. Don't have any quick charging issues only do slow :)

One of the things we're all trying to figure out if is the update affects charge times. According to the documentation the vehicle is supposed to pause for ten minutes at either 80% or 90% (depending on where it started) to do some sort of testing routine.

There are also a handful of complaints that charging speeds were severely reduced after the update, though those are a bit unclear exactly what the circumstances are. (Edit: this pertains to fast charging only AFAIK, which it seems you don't do so I guess don't worry about it!)

If your setup allows for data logging of any kind, people here would be interested to know if your charging is paused or takes longer than usual.

Got my car back at 4 pm today.. All seems fine. When I dropped off the car, it was at 75% with 225 mile range and when I picked it up, it was at 74% and 216 mile range..
