One customer waiting for the Mercedes EQS EV he had reserved bailed when his dealer notified him he would have to pay a $50,000 dealer mark-up. Mercedes told him there was nothing they could do. He's now driving a Lucid Air. I'm surprised he didn't try shaming the shameless dealership by revealing its name.

Yikes $50k is beyond nefarious and doesn't pan out especially since it doesn't fully compare with S class. Yes didn't read that posting yet but further confirmation may prove the particular meth/crack head mentality is not a norm and hopefully not fly especially with corporate follow-up response. Wife currently awaits locked in agreement @ MSRP + options for Bimmer M50 for ~$80k, but skeptically eyeballing how it will stand up to deeper testing feedback and considering adding a deposit on it's German relative MB EQE. What a slippery slope these EV markups are becoming so early on.

    I had a similar experience.
Capital Hyundai part of the DGDG dealership group is adding $5000 on the MSRP.
I called around and Gilroy Hyundai is charging an additional $7500 for SE and SEL and 10K for top trim level.
Sacramento Hyundai is charging 10 to $12,000 over MSRP
    Crazy

I bought my Kona from the San Leandro dealer. They will try to tack extra stuff onto your contract like a theft-tracing system and claim that they can't take it off. That's a lie and absolutely illegal. Exercise caution.

Lithia Hyundai in Reno, NV has a $20,000.00 markup on all Ioniq 5 models. I reported them to Nevada Attorney Generals office yesterday to investigate for collusion and price fixing, since they are a large regional dealer chain.
Dont get me wrong, I have a deposit on a 2k marked up I5 SEL AWD. So, not against a little supply and demand adjustment. But, $20k on top of a $46K price is egregious behavior. Greedy at best.

How many Ioniq 5s does Lithia Hyundai have in stock and how long have they been there?

High Desert Protection Package for $998 is a steal. Don't ask me what it is other than vapor.
