Opposite here in MA - no Tourings available, but many more base models. The dealer I bought my Touring from had 5 bases on the lot.

It is hard to find a Clarity base and nowhere to find a touring now in northern CA now.

Paid MSRP ($38,010) for a Touring model Platinum White Pearl with Beige interior at a California central coast dealer. Could it be the last Platinum White Pearl Touring to be sold?

At that price, probably. My dealer has 2 on the lot.

8/20/21 Got $1,000 discount of MSRP ($38,010-1,000=37,010) for a touring model Crimson Peral from Honda North (Clovis, CA)
Got their 0.99% APR loan for Clarity as well

Looks like there might be a $6000 incentive to dealers in zev states on Clarity.

Just bought a 2018 base CPO with 36k miles, $21,995 plus $600 for unnecessary accesories(alarm, door edge guard) talked the price down from $1300, the advantage of buying at 9pm at the last day of the month.

Wow, that's only $6400 less than I paid for my 2018 Base, new!

  15. $21,995 + $600 = $22,595, is not even $1000 less than our OTD, net cost for a new 2019 Touring.

    Sorry.

    No I’m not.

I'll help @Naughtysauce feel a little better. I bought a 2018 Touring new in June of 2018 and paid about $28k net of the tax credit. I'd have saved a lot of money to have waited to buy, but I've loved owning the car.

Nearly a year before the Clarity PHEV went on sale, I told my dealer I wanted the first one they could get. Then I paid MSRP at the beginning of November, 2017, to get that first Clarity and haven't regretted it a bit.

I fully expected the car to be a sales success but low gas prices, the fact that it was a car and not an SUV, and Honda's unwillingness to advertise a car on which they didn't make a profit conspired to deny its popularity. It was certainly more popular than the gen-1 Insight, of which Honda made just slightly more than 14,000 units in 7 years.

Different time and market. I would have not paid this much a year ago, but I got a screaming trade in offer for my other car so I consider it a wash. The car is extremely clean considering the other candidates I was looking for in the used market. Dealer even went as far as repainting the bumper for some scuffs and I had them fill the license plate holes and paint that as well so I don't have to look at that silly plate in the front anymore. No regrets.

Different time and market, plus I do not qualify for the fed tax credit of $7500, I would have only been able to use around 2k of that if I bought new, and there are no new ones in my immediate area let alone cash on the hood. I still have a few rebates I'll take advantage of, so if all goes well, I'll get an additional 2k back in cash not tax credit. But I'm glad you got yours for an awesome deal. I wish I could have found a touring in my price range(power seats is the biggest let down), but not in this market and w/ my standards.

Tru dat! I purchased mine just a week before Honda announced that they'd no long be available outside of CA and OR. The dealership had two on its lot, both had been sitting - uncharged - for nine months. My price included a $5K Honda discount promotion: A week later (following the aforementioned Honda announcement) the dealer made that back by making $5K over MSRP for its remaining Clarity in a bidding war! Yeah, I was only eligible for a $750 tax credit - which covered my first-year registration fee. Also - for future reference - this: https://bumperplugs.com/bumperplugs

Yes it was a very odd choice for Honda to raise the MSRP like that, from what I heard they were selling these at a loss even at MSRP.

I'm glad I didn't have to go the plug route, now I have a clean bumper as if it was new. I'm going for a vinyl license plate for a cleaner look. But if I didn't get the bumper repaired, I would have probably gone for that plug option and a re-locate kit.

Honda didn't raise the price - there were three buyers who wanted the car and the dealership took the highest bid, just like in Real Estate!

I went with a silicone plate frame, too - it stops the plate from buzzing.

Oh, I thought you meant the price increase Honda implemented for the 2019 and up models. They increased the price up to 5k depending on the market.

Didn't know they had silicone plate frames, going to have to get one for the rear. Thnx
