    2017 sales were 90-something, plus 361 gives you ~450.

So another ~59 are display models at dealerships across the country.

To me those #’s are in line with the VIN’s

My bad 27 total for 2017. So roughly 100 demo/display model nationwide.

Sounds like they were feeding you a line. By the time it leaves the factory the VIN should be assigned to the customer and the ETA should be known. Unless Honda Canada holds back that info until it gets to Canada. Sounds like the dealer is "hoping" it is on a boat so you don't cancel the deal.

I had 2 dealerships both give me the same explanation on how build orders work with Honda.

They get zero information on the order until it shows up in North America. When it comes off a boat, they get informed and can estimate from there.

Apparently they are nothing like other manufacturers used to dealing with build orders like VW where you can practically follow your order in real time from order to vehicle.

Looks like Honda is screwing up big time, that's a 39% drop after constant monthly increases:

The most frustrating thing is Honda Canada/ dealers are not telling how much pending order is as of date at Canada wide level. This will solve big picture calculations for wait time for people and does not require any special effort from Honda side.

There is nothing for them to screw up. They have no car to sell.

Anyway, the 73 is probably just vaporware as throughout April, there's less than 20 cars listed. Most people won't buy unless they can test drive and if most dealers have no stock (and probably the dealer are pushing the Accord), hence the sales figure. I am actually surprised that sold that many and I expect May will go down even more seeing there's only 8 now listed and if they are actually building Canadian model now in the factory, factoring the manufacturing time, ship time, custom time, transport out east time, dealer prep time, we won't see anything until mid June at the earliest

I am going to stop thinking about it for another month, dealer said 8-12 weeks......but they also said they really didn't know because Honda isn't telling them anything.
The frustrating thing is that Honda could give numbers but won't. Car production is starting to resemble vapourware...it is all mystery and at the end everyone will be disappointed. The dealers certainly must be frustrated.
Considering buying something else now, should be easy for dealer to unload car or me to find someone for them to sell it to once a date is given.

I honestly don't get what is up with Honda Canada. They messed up the trims and overestimated how many people would want the Touring (at least that's what I'm gathering from people here and from my own experience - the wait times for the base model seem to be growing and growing). I don't get their marketing either. I haven't seen much from Honda at all on the Clarity. I've seen one commercial and it was for the Clarity in the USA (I think they also got a better interest rate). Do they want to sell this car or not? Sorry for the rant.

No even close. The Ioniq is about the same size as an Elantra, Civic, Corolla whereas the Clarity is Accord/Camry class.

Of course if you are talking about the battery, then yes then Ioniq EV is bigger as it has around 26.5kwh of usable battery (28 total). If you are talking about the Ioniq PHEV, then it is smaller than the Clarity as it only has probably less than 8kwh usable (8.9 total)

Since both battery suppliers are different, there is no reason to assume, we may have similar problem.
