What does it offer to compete with the Tesla Model Y? Does it cost half as much?

The Countryman E would have to pull some Herbie Love Bug magic!

I've read it's basically the same as the BMW iX1, so what's the difference going to be between those two vehicles? At least the SE looks like a MINI and is different from the BMW i3 it's a descendant of. I don't think the new Countryman looks MINI-ish at all.

I looked up the iX1 and found "The BMW IX1 2023 prices range from $84,900 for the basic trim level." That doesn't bode well for the Countryman EV coming in under the $48K price for a Model Y.

It's up to $87,400 AUD now (with the $3,000 AUD price increase), that's about $56,440 USD.

In Germany, the iX1 starts at 55,000 euros or $58,760 USD.

Well, the BMW i3 was at least $10,000 more expensive than the SE so I guess the kidney grilles are a premium feature.

You can always get an all electric Argentine Tito S5 fully loaded for $23,250. Has that retro R60 feel.
