Is it cleanable suede?

Our 2 year old took a ballpoint pen to the suede on the diver’s side door. I bought suede cleaner, but now I wonder if it’s actually suede or is it synthetic?

    Anyone have luck cleaning it?

  2. More like Alcantara, not suede.

No idea how to clean it--I sprayed mine with scotchguard when it was new (and also bought a color with a dark interior) so have just vacuumed so far.

  4. I've had some luck using Folex to remove stains, but to be honest I never checked whether it's appropriate or not to use on the material.

I tried to get some of the cleaning solutions Alcantra recommended, but none were available in the use. Needed to get out ballpoint pen.

I ended us using water, a brush, and an extractor. I lost a little bit of the surface fluff, but 95% of it came out with an extractor.

  6. If it was only ink, I believe 99% isopropyl would have worked as a solvent, but again don't know it interacts with the material. My extractor has been a godsend for me as well, but I never thought of using that on the walls/ceiling.
