I get forward collision warnings daily on curves. I'm used to those and they generally don't interfere with normal driving so I don't bother turning it off. What I disliked the most was the lane departure warning, which would trigger at random times for no apparent reason, and worse would trigger while intentionally maneuvering such as to avoid an object or animal in the road or give extra space to a biker or pedestrian. While using the turn signal temporarily disables it, there is not always time for that, and then the car is fighting my steering input in the middle of an emergency maneuver. While the system is easily overpowered, I found it to be a significant distraction at critical moments. Fortunately, turning off the lane departure system is one of the settings the car keeps, so you only have to do it once and done. A dashboard reminder comes up every time the car powers up, and that is fine.
