If you start the car without the break down it will go into accessory mode and tell you to push in the break and power to start.. which doesn't work unless you first power off completely and then power back on with the break pressed in.

Really poor UI, they are trying to tell you what you should have done instead not what you need to do now to start it properly.

I'll do it sometimes because I realize I forgot to unplug the charger but want to start the heater up so I'll get in and start the car w/o fully sitting so it goes to ACC mode not fully ON. Then I have to turn off and back on again.. annoying.

This hung start happened to my Clarity this morning. Putting the car in neutral cleared the problem, allowing me to shutdown and start normally.

Happens to me at least once a week. I figured that it was just a little bug. I just sit back, take a deep breath, and try again.

    Works most of the time.

I sometimes daydream when it happens that I'm trying to escape a madman and the damn car won't start quick enough to get away:)

As perhaps an aside, does anyone know if the Accessory mode on Clarity is confined to the 12v battery or if it uses the larger battery?
i.e. I remember with older cars having to be careful not to kill the 12v. In my family as likely others, this sort of became a rule to not use radio or anything that draws power when parked (to avoid any related problems).
