Haha, that's great! I wanted some kind of backdrop to represent "I'm in Kansas", and this one fit the bill.

Thank you! The Tentacle Spoke wheels were my #2 choice, and that was quite an internal debate. They were the lightest 17" wheel available from MINI (or maybe second-lightest now, compared to the Power Spoke), 2.2lbs lighter than the Roulettes. You have made an excellent choice.

I'm sorry! You're welcome? Thank you!?

The stripes are available in black, red, or white. If you're going Chili Red with a white roof, some white stripes would be a great fit.

My status dates are on the tracking spreadsheet. It took roughly 16 weeks from dealer order to arrival at the dealership.

I wasn't really planning to add the stripes, so this was a spur-of-the-moment decision. I looked at the base price for them on MINI's web site and determined that was reasonable enough, but didn't account for dealership labor rate for the installation. (Or maybe the MINI site's price is per stripe?). I think it was in the $400 range. The sales manager showed me the itemized price when we were discussing the total sale amount, but that isn't broken out on the print-outs I have. I can email them to get the actual number, but it may be better for you to contact your dealership to see what their prices are...and then inquire at local tint/graphics shops to see what their prices are to give you some leverage to negotiate.

So much for my Samsung Galaxy S20Ultra... exceeds both of those dimensions handily. Guess I have another reason to make the jump to iPhone when you add that and the infotainment system only officially supporting Apple CarPlay at this time.

Pro tip: This is a key distinction when researching accessories for the boot. Make sure you select the "with storage package" option.

I have ordered a CanvasBack liner for my SE because it also protects the backside of the rear seats and appears to allow you to flip up that lid and put it into locking position.

Pro tip: If you use a protective case on your phone, don't forget to account for any girth it adds. The case I'm using does not interfere with wireless charging, but it does add just enough height that my iPhone 11 won't fit in that charger.

Also, I learned last night that wireless Apple CarPlay will really run your phone's battery down quickly, and make it quite warm.

(EDIT): This video by Petrol Ped is relevant. Granted, his Clubman's console doesn't appear to have the same ventilation holes our 2-door's console has (look on the passenger's side), so I don't know if that's a factor. I may try using it by removing the case from my phone before investing in a thinner case. Since most of my trips will be shorter, the heat build-up may not be an issue--but if it is, I have not problem plugging in a USB cable instead of using the wireless pad.

I am sad to hear the rumors of insufficient phone space are true.

I guess it's a small car, but you'd think the designers would understand that the same people who buy techie electric cars will have flagship phones and add half an inch.

The SE also has USB-C and USB-A ports below the climate controls, so you can always charge the old-fashioned way.

My iPhone XS (in a case) gets rather warm but not so hot it shuts down or can't be handled while running CarPlay for over an hour. Petrol Ped's Qi charger is a completely different design from the one in the SE. Perhaps MINI has made some improvements.

@MichaelC, thanks for correcting my "cargo package" to "storage package." Thanks, also, for discovering this Canvasback cargo space liner (repeat of your link). I was looking for something just like this product.

    Hello all,
    Just joined the forum today.
All your previous comments were so helpful.

Like many of you on this thread, I’m also from Portland, just ordered our Mini Cooper SE Electric 2 weeks ago and got today the production number from Mini of Portland.
As per your great advice, I immediately checked “track my mini” on the official website my garage.mini USA and got the good surprise:
    PRODUCTION BEGINS
Today's the day: your MINI has entered the production queue.

They even already provided a VIN number....

Looking forward to exchanging with you!

Correction to one of my earlier comments: I paid $350 for the Sport Stripes on the bonnet & boot.

The MINI accessories site is a bit confusing, as it has 2 different ways to order Sport Stripes and the price is updated after adding them to the cart and selecting your dealer. I recommend talking to your dealer about their pricing for accessories (and ask if that price includes installation labor), as that can apparently vary.

    Hello Insightman,
Happy to see you are still one of the most active in the forum, even after your everlasting delivery time....
You should have all our respect for this exemplary demonstration of patience....
Our first mini is an Iconic trim, enigmatic dark with white roof and mirrors.
The wheels are the 17” Propeller Spoke two-tones.

    Thanks Norbu72.
Yes, so far it seems we see a progressive return to normal production. Let’s see now if they keep the pace....

I asked my dealer as well. He told me if I want the sport strips to be installed at port $190, but in dealer $250. Bonnet strips are more expensive, they are more popular, but they only go on the front hood.

The Sara Leader is just outside the Mona Passage, almost in the Caribbean. Looks like a relatively easy passage around the back of hurricane Delta then to the canal.
