I'd love to see some photos of the work after it has been completed. I realise that it's hard to show the ceramic coating and the PPF in a photograph.

I've been weighing up these options for when my Mini arrives and was thinking about getting the ceramic coating and tinting done but the PPF is so expensive. Are you getting a full PPF done or just the high impact areas on the front?

    Post-installation photos guaranteed. ;)

I toyed with the idea of a full wrap until I saw the price. (Yikes!) I had a partial front coverage done on my previous car, and ultimately wound up with stone chips further up the hood. So I will get the full front coverage on the SE, including hood, front fenders, front bumper, mirrors, and headlights.

I got what's called skipchips on my SE which covers the full hood, bumper, trunk, and door edges for $1300. I consider it worthwhile because of the miles I drive and the potential for thrown rocks on the freeway. I've had it on my previous MINIs.

It's completely clear and you can't see anything except the edges if you look really close.

The front coverage was what I was thinking about too but it is going to be about $2,500 AUD (ie. approx. $1,700 USD). I'm almost thinking that paying for paint correction later will be a better option. On top of the ceramic coating and the tinting, that's a lot of money.

How many years was the skipchips on your previous Mini? I've heard that eventually they will peel and/or start to change colour.

Over five years, no degradation. I do park in a garage, maybe that's a factor. I've sold off my cars before seeing any problem with the skipchips.

Just got the call from the dealer, they are expecting arrival either Thursday or Friday this week, they'll take a couple of days to detail and prep/wake it up. I go in to sign final papers this afternoon!

You may beat me, @Toi ! Great thing about being in Oregon is no sales tax. I think the only difference between our vehicles is that I have the $500 black leather upgrade. If you're willing to share, how much was your total and how much was your registration/title? I'm waiting for dealer to return my return call/email to him yesterday so I have no more info than in my previous post.

Thankfully, Washington state has an exemption rate for EVs, so they only charge you for the sales tax of the price over and above the exemption. Right now, that's $25,000. My vehicle came to about $39,000 with license, RTA, dealer fees, etc being $1,250 and the car itself being $37,750... so only $14,000 of that is subject to sales tax. So I am walking a cheque for about $40,500 down to the dealer this afternoon. (hopefully that info helps)

That's great to hear of that program! You guys also get a $2500 tax credit or rebate, right? I'll get Oregon's $2500 rebate which luckily isn't dependent on tax credits so I should get it more quickly (although govt and COVID delays ...who knows how long it'll be). It's $5000 if you meet lower income requirements. And with $7500 back on taxes, it's a great deal.

Washington State doesn't have income tax, so there is no other incentives other than the Federal up to $7500 tax credit (if you are eligible/etc)

Papers signed last night, again Seattle Mini seems to be setting the bar for best experience I've had buying a new car. Was chatting with my sales guy and I was telling him how some people haven't been provided with the PDF of the order guide like he did for me. He was disappointed in that news as it was a comprehensive guide that anyone could understand, but he figured some older dealers wouldn't want to empower their customers with knowledge for whatever reason. If you are in Washington and are in search of a Mini Electric, go see Seattle Mini on Lake City. Ask for Devin.

Car should be offloading on either Thursday or Friday depending on how long it takes the driver to deliver @TittaPDX 's mini in Portland, he will shoot me pictures of the unload. It will go through the wakeup procedure (which I learned yesterday is a Factory mandated full charge of the battery and hold test, not continuous joyrides as we suspected *grin*) tint install, and a detail and should be ready early/mid next week. Told him I was fine waiting a few more days if I have waited this long :)

In the meantime, I'm still waiting to hear more about my car. Did your dealer say they're stopping at the Portland location first? I do see that my local has almost the same one I ordered but with the Power Spoke wheels instead of my Cosmos. That order guide you shared is great! I hope more dealers are using it nowadays.

He didn't have any more information other than it had been dispatched as such, sorry.

Yeah, something is weird, the mini tracker now shows my car as 'at the dealer' but I know it isn't... so... yeah.

No idea about this reference. I'll pass on the nipples, thanks. :)

you're right, it's not a good reference... and it dates me... the creators of south park did a movie called 'BASEketball' and they got a couple of sports announcers to cameo in it... this is that scene.

That is a major plus IMHO. The bar is high, as you say.
