Pretty sure the Clarity EV is liquid cooled. You can precondition the cabin when it is plugged in so you can warm up without draining the battery in the morning, and the system uses a heat pump for more efficiency.

I have the EV and I live in Sacramento. I bought the car last Nov, so it's made it through the winter commuting back and forth to work every day. The temps in the morning were sometimes in the high 20s or low 30s, but generally low 40s on my morning commute.

The indicated range would drop dramatically when it's cold outside...usually indicating about 65 miles when I started the day. I preconditioned the cabin each morning so I never needed to run the heat much, but I found that I needed the climate control on most of the time (set to 65 deg or so) to keep the windows from fogging up.

Now the the temps are up, I'm seeing an indicated range in the morning of 90+ miles, and it's been pretty accurate. My commute is around 10 miles, but there have been a few times where I've used all of the range (down to an indicated 1 mi remaining) and the range projection for those days were spot on with about 90 miles of driving.

Based on that, I'm inclined to believe the car when it says it can only go 60-65 miles when it's cold (below 40 degrees) outside.
