  1. My Kona EV was red, too, and really liked it, so did it again.

I'm a month in - '23 SEL, Silver/black, RWD, 20's, 700 miles. So far, everything I'd hoped for. Our 3rd EV - 2 FIATs preceded it. Not Tesla fast but fast enough, remarkably economic. I confess I haven't fully explored all the electronic wizardry it offers, but the performance/handling/ride are everything the reviews promise. And it's a CAR not an SUV! Although a fairly tall, long car...

I've had my I6 Limited for 3 months now (4k miles already) and have had virtually no problems with it. It has met all expectations. It does get hot inside in this 100 degree Georgia weather, but I am looking into ceramic window tint to help with that. One thing that it does NOT like happened this weekend when I transported 12'x15' vinyl roll flooring in it (I don't have a truck). It extended past the bumper about 1 foot. I pushed the trunk lid down slowly and secured it. The entire trip the console screamed alerts, and what is worse, every time I stopped completely it applied the parking brake, which was tricky to take off especially in very heavy stop and go traffic. I wont be doing that again! It would be nice to have an override for that; OK, I see the warning - now cut it off. Other than that I could not be more pleased. It handles long road trips with ease and actually gets better milage around town thanks to the i-pedal regen braking. I have yet to see another Ioniq 6 in the area riding around, so I am the one that gets all of the looks. Everyone asks me what it is and loves it. I also took advantage of getting the EV tag so I can ride solo in the express lanes without fees or fines. Nice!

  5. Did you manually close the door latch to "trick" it into thinking it was closed? Might be worth a try using a carabiner or similar if the same is required in the future.
Thanks for the nice photos of a beautiful looking EV.

Oh yes. It tried to close automatically at first and popped right back up. You have to close it very slow to override it. I then used the bungee cords to keep it from popping open. I don't plan on using it for that again. Too expensive of a car to break because of such.

Thanks. I take pics of it whenever I get somewhere scenic. Totally love it!

UPDATE 08/21/2023: After watching several YouTube videos I have discovered a couple of features that are not adequately addressed in the Quick Reference Guide: My Drive mode and Auto Gen. My Drive mode can be activated in the settings menu to allow customization of accelerator response, power distribution and braking response. My Drive mode reduces range but increases the fun factor. Application of the approach door unlock TSB vastly improved this feature. Also my dealer completed the Campaign 997 ICCU software upgrade. The latest OTA nav/info system update has not gone smoothly but finally after several days of "Preparing to Install the Software" message it installed.

  9. I've had mine just over a month now, and 1400 kms. The more I drive it, the more I like it. It really is a pleasure to go somewhere with this car. I know it is not a true luxury car, but it sure feels like one to me. Have taken some friends for a drive, and the comments from the back seats is that they feel like they are in a limo. It really is roomy back there.

Has Hyundai started OTA software updates (other than navigation/infotainment) like they said they would this time?
I remember the Ioniq 5 was supposed to have OTA even for all modules but I believe is not supported.

  11. I believe they have in the US, but not yet in Canada. At least I haven't got one so far.

I get what you are saying now. I tried to carry something similar in my wife's 2022 Sonata this past weekend and it did something very similar. I used my keys to 'close' the latch and the alarms quit. I should have tried that on my I6.

Got my 2024 Ioniq 6 AWD Preferred today!. 1st imprerssion: Absolutely, love how it drives. Acceleration is very smooth. Thought the I-Pedal feature was real nice saving on brakes. Upgraded sound system (Bose) is mediocre at best. Fit and finish very good. Needed Oct 2024 map update (dealer should have done that).

Also, Hyundai just released a new map update. In Canada, after d/l Navigation Updater, there is no option for the 2024 Ioniq 6, only 2023 which is identical. D/l software and it loaded and works fine, no issues.

  16. I have had my Ioniq 6 RWD for a month now and I really like it. I was worried about the 12V battery so I have been monitoring the battery status closely. Apparently there is something going on when the car is parked that discharges the 12V battery sometimes, but when it reaches about 70% State Of Charge it is charged by the on board charger.
In the EU we have a problem with beep sounds from the Ioniq 6 as soon as the speed limit is passed. This can not be permanently removed, but the volume can be reduced a bit. With music playing at a high volume I hardly notice it ( but it is annoying that it can't be turned off completely).
I have the version with cameras as side mirrors - and I must recommend that feature! Perfect vision all the time, and never any blinding lights from cars behind you.

  17. Got my Ioniq 6 in July, and now have almost 5K kms, and love it. Still get lots of compliments in parking lots. Even had a person get out their phone to take pics.

Only issue is that for some reason not able to download and install Oct map updates. Still have the Dec/22 version. Dealer couldn't get it to work either.

As for the 12V battery, I have a BM2 on it and show it being charged periodically in the garage to keep it up. The yellow light comes on quite often.

We can't get the digital side mirrors here, but would be nice to have those. Also no digital rear view mirror. I have that in my Solterra and works great if the back window is frosted or full of snow in winter. It even has a washer for the camera. That is also a great car, and we make good use of it in the summer going off-road to our cabin and in snow up to the mountains for skiing in winter.

The Solterra has a nice Auto ECO Climate feature, where steering wheel and seat warmers come on automatically in cold weather and shut off when warmed up. Same with seat ventilation in summer. Wish the Ioniq 6 had that.
