PS: @MrSnrub I love how you went around the tree to increase the angle and reduce strain.

I've seen cell-phone towers disguised as trees; when I first looked at the photo I thought I was seeing a brilliantly conceived EVSE disguised as a tree. Then I looked harder.

We aren’t that clever here for that

I'm envious. In all of Texas, not including Tesla charging stations, there are fewer than 300 DCFC charging stations.

Most DC stations look like this here. We have tripled down on the public charging network here. Also helps I guess when the electric company is state owned F86ACEFD-669D-4E7B-B3DE-7F99E8808EC2.jpeg

    That’s staggeringly bad

does that include EA stations ?

  15. teslarati97

    teslarati97 Well-Known Member

Yes it includes EA stations but I've displayed the results as a single location. For example if there are 8 chargers in 1 location, I count that as one.

The weird single 1 ON charger seems to be the Comfort Hotel in Niagara Falls, ON. I don't know why that is in USA.

Well, we know that Tesla stations, pedestals, and dispensers outnumber all others combined, but yes it would seem that includes EA and EVGo. EA has around 800 locations now, with some 3500 dispensers.

One of the few benefits of living in QC !

looking at the numbers QC has a robust network

Yes QC has a very good and reliable network! I'd rather have reliable 50kW dispensers with 95% up-time versus 350kW dispensers with 25% up-time.

Aren’t EA stations always broken or offline ?

Petro Canada has no interest in building a network. The chargers are mostly concentrated in Ontario as well and for whatever reason they partnered with Porsche… I had dinner a few times with Porsche Canadian CEO at the time and should have asked why. It just seemed so strange. Shell built a bunch of new gas stations but pulled the chargers out of the one near my shop

There is a Charge Point near me and it’s always clogged with Taxis

I’m guessing these would be wholly public stations/locations, correct? Because I know there is more than a single Tesla destination location in the US. I imagine the same would apply up here, public Circuit Électrique stations on private property are considered public, but there are plenty of ChargePoint stations open to the public on private (mall, supermarket, dealership) property that are likely not included in the count.
