just received notification from Parkway that they will not be able to fulfill my order Sent from my iPhone using Inside EVs
So sorry to hear. At least they were honest. Sorry to pry, but could you give us more info ie. what you ordered, when you ordered, etc.)
Okay did a little search and found this. Not the same as our situation, but it gives some thought as to what we can do. https://www.wheels.ca/news/what-can-i-do-if-the-dealer-doesnt-deliver/ Also tried searching https://www.omvic.on.ca/portal/Consumers.aspx but couldn't find anything specific to our situation. I'm curious as to what everyone who doesn't get a car after deposit is going to do. I still haven't heard back from my dealer, but they promised to contact me this week. So hopefully some good news for me, but if I don't get good news, we should all have some next steps as to what we can do. Whether or not each of us individually intends to pursue a legal recourse or otherwise is individual.
If it was from same dealer, I would say if it was base, no deal, if it was touring possible. If from another dealer, still possible, but I think everyone here should know by the end of the week.
I would rather hear that than what most people are getting which is nothing. At least your dealer let you know ahead of time, so you can explore other options. I would definitely use a dealer like that. They did the leg work so that you're best informed. Sucks what happened but there are some guys on here that have been waiting since late January with no answers to their concerns.
I'm in Quebec so a different dealer. Maybe there are sending that guys to me, you know, equalization and all. - bad joke I know
I just got an update from my dealer (Ottawa Honda). I contacted him telling him I've heard of some orders not being fulfilled and he got back to me saying production of my car is scheduled for June. He said he'll update me once he has an ETA on delivery. Hopefully production and delivery don't take several months. I ordered a green Touring on March 9.
Sam just contacted me again to tell me that he made a mistake when he checked. It seems there’s no timeframe for production of my green touring. He thought I had ordered a white. So it seems there’s a prod date set for a white model. He did not specify if it was base or touring.
With just the people on this post , many signed with Ottawa Honda, seems that they sold way too much.
An update, supposedly only 2 cars allocated to the dealership with 7 backorders. So 5 are cancelled or waiting for 2019's. (FYI, 2019 won't be delivered before January 2019). This is again a statement of the screwup of Honda. They know how many cars they have on order, but they are spreading them around rather than fulfilling them by true date order, as they want to keep their dealer network (all independent) happy. So now stupidly, you will end up with a dealer how has not sold any potentially receiving one or two. Not to mention that by their own numbers, Honda has only sold 500 cars in Canada, and they can't even deliver those.
Just got off the phone with Honda customer service and they are advising to speak to the manager. She also thinks that the 2018s are probably done for production and will be starting 2019s very soon. Lastly she also mentioned that the Clarity has limited production run. Which I find weird for this type of vehicle.
I have not heard from my dealership. I was told mine was the first base model ordered and that it was already on order when I left a deposit. Soooooo......from the comments here the cars are being allocated evenly across dealers, which is the same thing I was told by a sales person in March. I can't see them selling my car to another dealership or person so I should get word soon? When the car is allocated does that mean the dealership has the VIN #?
Of course it was limited. Did you get a car? The bunk is just something to say because they screwed up otherwise they would have been saying that from the start. Or maybe they just wanted to use people and see if they were going to commit to buying one as some sort of demented marketing research.
