Emailed my MA today asking about the status she sees bs what I can see. My update says it’s still “In Transit” and hasn’t arrived back at the port yet. Here is what the MA told me: It says it should be getting to MD today but it's not in green, so it's not there yet, it will arrive in MD at the VDC (vehicle distrubution center) and go through an inspection, this usually takes a couple of days and then put on a truck to us. The transportation has been delayed, we have seen this with MINI's at the port now, that are still sitting there. I just talked to ask Mini this morning too, and they said the same thing… but the boat is off the coast of Georgia? I guess it must have gotten unloaded, but hasn’t been checked in? Sent from my iPhone using Inside EVs
The wait will be rewarded. I may have missed some of the excitement (frustration) of seeing my MINI going through production. I ordered my SE during late October and chilled for a while. I checked with my MA last Monday to get the production number. Well, to my surprise, the SE has moved from the factory to the port! I haven't even had a chance to add to the spreadsheet. SE+ White Silver Metallic with black roof and mirrors, Cloth/Leatherette Black Pearl, 16-inch Victory Spoke, Head Up Display, Roof Rails. How accurate is the My Garage description? It states HK audio and Park Distance Control (rear).
Hello Everyone! Reservation was made 10/29, and as of today it was dispatched from the Factory. I feel that was really quick. They are stating 1-2 weeks to hit Baltimore, but find that hard to believe with current hurdles at our ports.
Hey Jake, welcome to the madness! I will tell you my experience thus far. First and foremost, are you doing the tracking yourself on My MINI Garage? If not, you should. MINI.USA.com and set up an account under the OWNERS tab. Here you can create a garage with your production number or VIN number if you have it. My production began on 10/07/21 and was Dispatched from the factory on 10/25, there were several steps in between. The next step is "AT THE PORT", mine arrived 10/27/21 at the port in South Hampton. It sat there until 11/15/21 when the status changed to "IN TRANSIT" when it got on a ship to Baltimore. The ship arrived in Baltimore 11/25/21 but the status still shows "IN TRANSIT". Once it gets checked in at the VDC (Vehicle Distribution Center) the status should change to "AT THE PORT" again. I'm told with the current situation it could take 1-4 weeks to complete this step. Then once it is inspected it will move back to "IN TRANSIT" when it is on a truck to the dealer, which can take another week or so. I'm hoping mine arrives before the end of the year. Depending on where your final destination is will decide which port you go to. If it's going to the West Coast it will obviously add some time. I hope this was helpful. If not for you then maybe someone else.
Hello, stumbled upon this thread, and i've been tracking it just like you guys... Mine is currently at 'awaiting carrier assignment' and the next boat to California is on the Themis, originally scheduled for nov 30, got delayed to Dec1. (funny, because it's just circling outside Southhampton port). THink it's likely to get on this boat? I'd have to get really lucky and have all the stars align. All aboard to CA!!! beep beep---- last one
Grand Sapphire just departed Southampton. My SE has been at port since last week. Hopefully it is on this vessel headed for Brunswick! If not looks a few more options this week to still get to Nashville by YE.
Ok, I’m getting antsy for it to be checked into the VDC. Meanwhile just for grins I open the MINI Connect app. I enter my VIN and low and behold a pic comes up with my build. It wants a code, which I can’t enter because I don’t have the car of course. This to me means progress. MINI knows the car is in the system now.
Woooohooo!!! My vehicle has moved from port to transit for the second time that means it is on its way to the dealership. Also got an email from the dealership that it should be here tomorrow!!! If anyone wanted to know I am in Texas and the vehicle arrived in the port of Galveston on 11/22. My dealer is in Plano, TX so sometime this week I will have my MINI Sig + MINI Collection!!!! YAY me can not wait to drive it!!!
That reminds me, I should download the app again now that my car is close. I downloaded it a few months ago but it kept giving me notifications that I didn't care about so I deleted it. Someone on here was trying to guess their security code while it was still on the ship, but I'm pretty sure they gave up.
WOW 16 days. My MINI was in the port exactly 7 days and the dealership told me the ETA is 11/30. Also my MINI garage just changed today to In Transit.
Finally picked up mine tonight after ordering it in the beginning of August. Thanks to the tip on here, I emailed my guy and asked him to fully charge it and mentioned the low default charging setting. To my disappointment, he told the service guys, but didn't check it himself until an hour before my appointment (they didn't change the setting). So I limped home in green mode (boo). Had some extra charge left when I got close to home, so I took an earlier exit with a roundabout, after switching to sport mode. Good preview of fun times ahead!
I just had a live chat with a Mini Genius to check on the progress of my build as we can’t track it ourselves in the UK, and my car is scheduled for production next week and should be delivered to the dealer the week after that, so week commencing the 13th December. One of the benefits of living 350 miles from the Mini factory! No crash course in global shipping procedures for me!
Mine has switched back to At The Port. It’s being checked in at the VDC in Baltimore. Next step In Transit to the dealer.
This was super helpful! I am tracking the car via MINI garage, which has been fun and the dealership has been sending updates too. All of their dates line up with yours. On the positive they stated cars at the Baltimore Port were hitting their dealership (Mini of Montgomery County, MD) in about 1week. Where is your Mini's final destination? I am hoping mine arrives before the 2022 too! Super excited about jumping into the mini experience.
Same! Here’s to hoping for a quick turn around. My MA said yesterday they just had a car come through there, and it took about a week to get assigned a carrier, so that is promising!! Sent from my iPhone using Inside EVs
