I read the article with interest, but they state that the center is "high throughput" and has an average processing time of .... 45 minutes. That doesn't surprise me in the least. If a car has damage that has to be corrected, I still would doubt it would take more than a day or so to address. So I'm still confused about the five day estimate. Of course, now MyGarage shows it as In Transit, though I could have sworn it was At Port yesterday. Another call to ASK MINI and ... HOLY SMOKES THEY SAY IT IS AT THE DEALERSHIP AS OF AN HOUR AGO.
Meanwhile mine is still at the port. It's been there definitely over a week, I don't recall exactly when it got to the port. Of course mine is going to NYC and not Baltimore.
Awesome!! Now my turn to refresh my My Garage page every 2 seconds!! Hope you get to pick it up soon with the Clean Fuel Rewards in place and everything!
Yeah, I tried to figure out which ship my SE was on by tracking port departures and refreshing My Garage. When I called ASK MINI to confirm, I learned that it was actually on a ship that left port 4 days before the status changed on My Garage. Their tracking system is NOT realtime, and is NOT synced between the web site and the call center. What happens behind the curtains remains a mystery.
Gah! So, since my dealer hadn't replied to my "are we there yet?" text, I called the dealer. My rep has the day off, but they called me back and said the car was still at the port. So another call to ASK MINI and the rep said that it left the port when the other rep said it had arrived at the Dealer. The Dealer may have it tomorrow, so I plan to ask super politely that they get it ready for me for a Sunday pickup.
Congrats on making it to the ship. I’ve a different tool to track ships (I work in logistics). Your ship will be my guinea pig. I’ll keep you posted.
And.... it’s at the dealer! Unfortunately I’m out of town for a trail race, but Monday is the day I’ll be taking delivery.
I'm disliking my dealer today for not being able to set any expectations whatsoever. I called them yesterday, and they said it was still at the port when ASK MINI said it left the port at 11:45am. It is NOT a 24 hour drive to here from there, and I called them today, and again, they had no information, nor would they speak to how long it typically takes to get there. They promised to call me if it arrived, but they didn't. I do not see how it is possible that the car has not reached the dealer yet. But the dealer has never made any representation at all about how long it would take to get there. MyGarage still shows "In Transit", so maybe it still is on a truck. But ... still, the lack of setting my expectations is irksome.
Just checked MyGarage, and it says the car is at the dealership! Not sure when I can pick up the car exactly, as my dealer told me a couple days ago that the car is still pending approval at the Clean Fuel Reward program. So I think I will just let them do their job and be patient.
I admire your patience. I already am not nearly as patience as you. My dealer is dismissive of the information that the ASK MINI people give, and has basically been burned in the past from giving estimates about time frames. I'm eager due to my upcoming road trip (I'd rather leave my family with a car, either car, than no car).
I think I would be pesting them about it if I have a pending road trip like you! It would be amazingly fun to drive the new SE for your trip! From my end, since my dealer doesn't have the green light from the clean fuel reward, I can only wait! To be honest though, the clean fuel approval has been painfully slow...
Unfortunately, it can be painfully slow. My experience was that 1 800 ASK MINI had the most accurate information. But then my dealership is infamously squirrelly. It seemed like the final two weeks were the worst. Please post photos when you finally get it. The wait is absolutely worth it!! Sent from my iPhone using Inside EVs
Even though I waited 51 weeks, my dealer had no choice but to deliver my SE the day after it arrived because that was their last day in business! Another local dealership bought the black, MINI-designed building and is now selling their used cars there.
