You can get genuine Honda Care D80, 100,000 mile, 8 yr, good at any Honda dealer with no deductible, and transfer or prorated refund if sold. $1304 on line. Good for everyone except those in California and (Florida, I think, not sure). Go to Hyannis Honda website for a free quote. I used that to make my dealer match it instead of their offered “deal” of $2,400. Much better than a 3rd party no name plan and no paperwork to keep up with since it pops up on any Honda dealer’s computer.
Added bonus for me is that it extends Roadside Assistance to members of my family if they drive a Honda or Acura. Factor in canceling AAA for 5 years and it’s dirt cheap insurance for the risk adverse.

Edit: There are some items in the drive train that are not covered for 8 years or by the emissions warranty. So along with a lot of other things it does add a little more coverage to the drive train. The infotainment screen alone is more than the price of the D80 even before subtracting for the AAA cancellation.
 
In CA, you get an automatic 10 year / 150,000 mile EV battery warranty which is super valuable without having to pay for the coverage!

I only got the optional $500 prepaid oil service and tire protection for 3 years under HondaCare Sentinel services...

Rairdon Honda. They will price match / beat any other quote from a local dealer. But they only have 2018 Touring left. No Base model.
None of the other local dealers came close. The one in Wenatchee will sell for less, they had one base left. But you will have to drive over the pass to get the car. But you will also save 1% in sales tax over there.

You can go to anyone that is close to you/preferred. Burien and Sumner have the touring in stock. They all will give you the lowest price, start dealing with their internet sales team first.
 
Amazingly, I was able to get a Base model in Modern Steel OTD for $29.5 in Colorado! Unbelievably happy with the results, kept looking outside the state for a deal that I could road trip home, but ended up getting something under 10 miles from my house. With $5000 back from Colorado, and $7500 back from Federal, I'll have a net price of only about $17K. I'm astounded with the value and can't be more happy to have another Honda in the house!

Called Burien and manager laughed at me when I told him the cheaper price at other dealers. He refused to match the price.

That's their published price on the internet! Available to everyone without any hassle or bargaining! (They won't go below it)

But if you have not received any other good offer, looks like your approach is not working. Need to try harder if you are serious.

My approach was to contact each of them online and tell them I already have a quote of 26500 and 29500 + TTL for base and touring resp. from a local dealer. I am shopping around for the lowest rate. If you are interested in this RFQ process, send me your best quote. I all not interested in talking or meeting in person until I narrow down the top 3 dealers.

Also include Honda Wenatchee in your process, they were willing to sell the base for 26450 + TTL.
 
Bought a 2018 touring today. There are no Honda incentives in Georgia that I am aware of so I was surprised to get two quotes that were each more then 7K off of MSRP. The one that I went with was both the highest VIN number in the area for the color that I wanted (mfg 11/18) and also the lowest price at $29,858 (including the $599 doc fee) which works out to $7,637 off of MSRP. The next best deal was $7,413.00 off of MSRP.

Could you give me the name of the dealers you talked to? I am in Georgia and looking for a Touring myself. If I can get that deal, I will be a new Clarity owner. Thanks.

I am trying to buy clarity in NY/NJ/CT.Only offers I am getting is 30K otd for Base 2018 Model.How much would be a practical number for Base 2018 Model & touring
 
I bought one Touring from Carland Honda couple of days ago , Roswell GA for 29853 ( 7.5 K below MSRP ) , OTD 33K , didn't do any negotiation on that 899 total fee thinking I am getting a great deal and there is hardly any car left on our color choice..Before that we tried even most of the TN and FL dealers .. no one will go below 4K from invoice . I think currently Carland even giving more than I got .

It seems to be a Georgia thing at the moment not specific to one dealer, and maybe other states too, because I contacted four essentially random dealers via their websites and immediately got fantastic offers from three of the four. Random in the sense that I first searched on Cargurus for my specific car (2018 Touring Black) within 100 miles of where I live, then I picked the four highest VIN numbers. I then went to the dealer websites for each of the four cars, found that exact VIN number car on their website and then clicked "Internet Price" or however they worded it. Within a day I had offers of $7,637, $7,413 and $6,501 off of MSRP. Note that the actual quotes I received were slightly better but I always include the $600-650 documentation fee when I compare prices since that goes into the dealer's pocket and so it is really part of the dealer price.

Those three offers were from Milton Martin in Gainesville, Carey Paul in Snellville, and Gwinnett Place in Duluth. But I wouldn't limit to just those dealers as again this was essentially random. The fourth dealer offered "only" $3,410 discount, maybe they would have price matched or even beat the others but I figured $7,637 discount was good enough LOL so I bought that one from Milton Martin. They were extremely nice and easy to work with, didn't try any tricks and didn't try and force any extras on me. They made the obligatory pitches about paint protection and warranty but no pressure when I turned those down.

That sounds similar to the offers that I was getting in the same area (north Georgia) for 2018 touring. Just to confirm, your dealer price was 29,853 and the documentation fee added to that was 899, correct? And there were no dealer added extras (splashguards, etc). If so then the actual dealer price was 30,752 (29,853+899) which is a 6,743 discount from MSRP which is certainly a good deal In my case the dealer price was 29,259 and the doc fee was 599 so the actual dealer price was 29,858 which was a
7,637 discount from MSRP.

You can never "negotiate" doc fee per se, as in having them remove it from the invoice or reduce it, all of the negotiation is on the price before doc fee. But I always let them know that I am aware that the doc fee is a dealer fee, so if they quote say $30,000, I ask them what the doc fee is (if it's not already listed somewhere in the quote). Then I say okay so you are quoting $30,000 plus $500 doc fee so your current offer is $30,500 correct? That way they know that I am aware that virtually all of the doc fee goes directly into the dealers pocket and is part of the selling price.
