I'm not sure what pdf you are referencing. The service bulletin 18-090 says to check the VIN range.Notice in this pdf, it says all 2018 Clarities.

Yes, thanks, though that I was talking about 18-090.Can you see this uploaded pdf?
Sorry- I was trying to post this solution to another poster.Print out the pdf that I posted and show them. It's clear what they need to do
Hope this helps.
For the Honda Link/Android auto problem try resetting the head unit by holding down the audio button. Several have had success with that. Good luck.Urggghhh- my dealer swears that my car already has these updates. I must have asked "are you sure? And can you just reload them onto the car?" 5 times, all to no avail.
So I got my car back with no changes. Ironically enough it hasn't happened during the 3 days since I got the car back. But I think that's it's just luck.
If they didn't change anything, then my issue will reappear. Every other ev at work charges without issue . Only the 1 Clarity, me, has the occasional charging issue.
And don't get me started on hondalink or Android auto which absolutely refuse to work at all
Other than these issues, I absolutely love the car. But I need the free charging at work or my calculations for buying the car turn upside down![]()
I feel like this thread got a little off topic....
I bought my Clarity a week ago and went the whole week using only EV (my work parking garage has free Level 2 charging).
Last night I was driving my father around showing him the car and pushed the Sport and HV buttons to show him the changes to the gauges and I couldn’t figure out how to get it back into EV mode! Simply pushing the Eco button just put it in HV Eco mode. Long press of the Eco button did nothing.
I finally figured out a work around that may or may not be the official way to get it back into EV mode. I pushed Sport mode then Eco mode.
I couldn’t figure out how to get it back into EV mode!
Had full battery when i switched it out of EV mode to HV mode. It seems as though my method (putting in Sport mode then hitting Eco) is the only way to switch back into EV mode while driving (like it is when you first turn the car on) if you have sufficient battery. There’s no really way to force the car into EV mode. The other modes you turn on will have an influence into when EV mode will kick in.
To have EV mode on most of the time, you want to turn off Sport and HV, and turn on Eco. Note that a hard acceleration or if the battery goes down to 2 bars, ICE will turn on.
If you have sufficient battery but ICE turns on, it will stay on for a few minutes the first time in order to warm up the engine.
Hope this helps.

I got the ICE started ... decided to use the restart method to force it off
When the engine starts, let it run and turn off as it decides best; don't try to force it.
I don’t know if this will work when the car is in motion, but at standstill I can switch out of HV just by pressing the HV button again, but not long enough to enter HV Charge.
I have found that a super quick press of HV at any time isn’t always recognized by the car. I have to give it a “good” press not an extremely short “flick” of a press. Might this be why some can’t get it out of HV after the mandatory warmup? Or it might be only my car does this. Need some to try this and report back.
That's what I do. I just fiddled with all the buttons the first time I drove it until I found the one that did what I wanted it to do. It has worked consistently the entire month I've had the car.I don’t know if this will work when the car is in motion, but at standstill I can switch out of HV just by pressing the HV button again, but not long enough to enter HV Charge.
